Apply & track with Apply EdgeSenior Geotechnical Engineer at New York, NYAbout the jobWe are currently looking to add a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to our team at our Princeton or New York office.As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will serve as the technical lead for geotechnical investigations and infrastructure design projects. You will mentor junior staff, collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams, and manage client relationships. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in soil-structure interaction, foundation design, and seismic engineering for large-scale public works.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership: Lead and oversee geotechnical engineering analysis, including deep and shallow foundations, slope stability, earth retention systems, ground improvement, and seismic hazard evaluations.Project Management: Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and deliverables for infrastructure projects (transportation and rail/transit).Field Investigation: Plan and supervise advanced subsurface exploration programs, laboratory testing, and geotechnical instrumentation monitoring.Reporting & Quality Assurance: Author, review, and stamp geotechnical engineering reports, design drawings, and construction specifications.Team Mentorship: Supervise and mentor junior and mid-level engineering staff.Client & Stakeholder Relations: Act as a primary technical contact for clients, regulatory agencies, and sub-consultants; assist with technical proposals and business development.Qualifications & Skills:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).Licensure: NY Professional Engineer (PE) license required (or ability to obtain via reciprocity within 6 months).Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering, with a strong focus on public infrastructure projects.Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in geotechnical software such as GeoStudio (SLOPE/W, SEEP/W), Plaxis, gINT, LPILE, GROUP, or SHAFT.
