Senior Grey Market & Clearance Buyer / Seller

We work with manufacturers, brand owners, importers, distributors and major retailers helping them realise value from excess, obsolete, cancelled and end-of-line stock.We are now looking to recruit a full-time specialist trader to strengthen our buying and selling capability in one key product sector. Initially, we are particularly interested in candidates with deep experience and contacts in one of the following sectors: Health & Beauty, Consumer Electronics, Branded Clothing or Toys.The OpportunityThis is a hands-on international trading role - not a traditional business development position. We want an experienced grey-market and clearance buyer/seller who understands how to identify opportunities, negotiate purchases and rapidly place stock with the right customers.The successful candidate will ideally bring an established network on both sides of the deal: suppliers with access to branded surplus or distressed inventory, and buyers who actively purchase clearance, off-price and grey-market stock.You will take ownership of your chosen category, working closely with senior management while having the freedom to originate, negotiate and close profitable deals.Initial Category Focus

• ToysWe expect to recruit a specialist in one of these fields to begin with, rather than a generalist covering every category.What You’ll Do
• Source branded surplus, cancelled, discontinued, overstock, liquidation and end-of-line inventory from manufacturers, distributors, retailers and other approved supply channels.
• Buy stock at commercially attractive prices, assessing marketability, provenance, restrictions, compliance, margins and risk.
• Sell stock into an established network of off-price retailers, wholesalers, distributors, e-commerce operators and other appropriate channels.
• Develop new supplier and customer relationships within your specialist category.
• Negotiate purchase and sales terms and drive transactions from initial opportunity through to completion.
• Monitor market pricing, brand demand, channel restrictions and emerging clearance opportunities.
• Work with our existing buying, sales, finance and logistics teams to ensure deals are commercially sound and operationally deliverable.
• Attend relevant trade shows, buying meetings and industry events where appropriate.About YouYou will already be established in at least one of our target categories and will understand the realities of grey-market, off-price and clearance trading.You are likely to have experience in one or more of the following:
• Clearance, off-price or grey-market trading
• Category buying or merchandising
• Wholesale or distribution
• International trading
• Brand, manufacturer or distributor sales
• Stock liquidation / surplus inventoryYou’ll also have:
• A strong existing network of suppliers and/or buyers within your specialist category.
• A proven ability to identify and close profitable stock deals.
• Strong negotiation skills and excellent commercial judgement.
• A clear understanding of brand positioning, channel sensitivity and the importance of legitimate product provenance.
• An entrepreneurial, fast-moving and opportunity-led approach.
• The ability to work independently and take ownership of a category and trading pipeline.
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
• Good spoken and written English; additional languages are an advantage.
