Our engineering teams design and develop products across Battery Management Systems (BMS), EV Chargers, Motor Controllers, DC-DC Converters and other automotive electronic systems for leading EV manufacturers in India and global markets.We are looking for a Senior Hardware Design Engineer who can take complete ownership of complex electronic hardware from architecture and component selection through circuit design, PCB development, validation and production.This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys solving challenging hardware problems and wants to see their designs deployed in real products at scale.What you'll do:Own the end-to-end hardware development of automotive electronic control boards from requirements, architecture and component selection to schematic, PCB, prototype, validation and productionDesign and develop analog, digital and power electronics for BMS, EV chargers, motor controllers, DC-DC converters and other high-power electronic systemsPerform detailed circuit analysis, simulation, component selection, design calculations and design reviews to ensure robust product performanceDesign and review high-current/high-voltage power stages, including MOSFETs, IGBTs, diodes, gate drivers and associated protection circuitryDevelop robust MCU/DSP-based control electronics, including signal conditioning, sensing, communication interfaces and board-level power suppliesLead PCB architecture and layout decisions including component placement, current-loop optimization, power/signal partitioning, thermal considerations, creepage/clearance, parasitic inductance/capacitance and EMC performanceDrive hardware designs through EVT/DVT/PVT, validation, debugging and production release, working closely with Firmware, Systems, Mechanical, Test, Quality and Manufacturing teamsDesign for cost, manufacturability, reliability and scalability, including products manufactured at 100k+ unit volumesLead hardware troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of issues observed during development, validation and field deploymentEnsure compliance with applicable automotive electrical, EMC/EMI, environmental, reliability, safety and functional-safety requirementsWork closely with the BMS Hardware/Firmware teams to develop and validate production and engineering test equipmentMentor junior hardware engineers and contribute to improving Maxwell's hardware design practices, reviews, component selection and engineering processesMust Have Requirements:5+ years of hands-on experience in electronics hardware/product development within a design and manufacturing environmentStrong fundamentals in analog, digital and power electronicsProven experience taking electronic products from concept → schematic → PCB → prototype → validation → productionStrong experience with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB design/reviewExperience with MOSFET/IGBT/diode selection, gate-driver design, protection circuits and high-current power electronicsExperience with MCUs/DSPs and their peripheral circuitry, including sensing, signal conditioning, communication interfaces and power suppliesStrong understanding of PCB layout for power integrity, signal integrity, thermal performance and EMI/EMCExperience with circuit simulation and design-analysis toolsUnderstanding of DFM/DFA, component derating, reliability and design-for-cost principlesAbility to independently debug complex hardware using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, electronic loads, power supplies, multimeters and other diagnostic equipmentGood understanding of hardware validation and product qualification methodologiesStrong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with global engineering teamsBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering (EEE/ECE) or equivalent practical experienceNice to Have:Experience with Li-ion batteries, BMS, EV chargers, motor controllers, DC-DC converters or other automotive power electronicsExperience working on automotive products and production-intent hardwareFamiliarity with Functional Safety (FuSa), ASPICE and automotive hardware development processesExperience with EMI/EMC testing and troubleshootingExperience with high-voltage isolation, insulation coordination,
