This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hardware engineer who enjoys taking complex designs from concept through testing, bring-up, and production.You'll play a key role in designing and developing advanced hardware for satellite communication products, working closely with FPGA, RF, software, and systems engineers to bring innovative solutions to life.What You'll DoDesign, develop, and document next-generation hardware for satellite modems and related productsDevelop FPGA-based satellite modem designs integrated on PCBsOwn key aspects of the hardware development lifecycle, including:Component selectionSchematic design and PCB layoutSignal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) analysisBoard bring-up, testing, and debuggingWork with high-speed digital interfaces, memory, clocks, power distribution, and communications hardwareCollaborate closely with engineering leadership and multidisciplinary teams to solve complex technical challengesHelp drive designs from initial concept through successful testing and implementationCommunicate technical concepts clearly across engineering and cross-functional teamsWhat You Bring5+ years of hardware design experienceBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related disciplineStrong experience designing communications systems and digital hardwareHands-on experience with:FPGAs and circuit designMicroprocessorsDDR/LPDDR, Flash, SPI NOR, and eMMC memoryPLLs, clock distribution, and fanout buffersDifferential and single-ended signaling and termination techniquesPower Distribution Network (PDN) design and analysisEthernet PHY and switch chipsSERDES interfacesADCs and DACsExperience with laboratory equipment including:OscilloscopesSpectrum analyzersVector network analyzersLogic analyzersStrong communication and collaboration skills with experience working in multidisciplinary, cross-functional, and matrixed engineering organizationsProficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and VisioEven Better If You HaveWorking knowledge of SATCOM waveforms and satellite communicationsExperience with RF/L-band design and PCB layoutHands-on soldering and hardware rework experienceExperience mentoring engineers or taking on technical leadership responsibilitiesAn active DoD clearance or the ability to obtain oneWhy This Opportunity?This is more than a traditional hardware design role.
