This full-time, on-site role is based in San Jose and involves creating circuit designs, selecting components, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in firmware, mechanical engineering, and manufacturing. The engineer will perform schematic capture, oversee PCB layout reviews, run simulations and analysis, and define test plans to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance with relevant standards. Daily responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware issues, optimizing designs for cost and manufacturability, and supporting design verification and certification activities. The role also includes mentoring junior engineers and contributing to continuous improvement of hardware development processes and best practices.QualificationsStrong foundation in hardware development, including end-to-end lifecycle from concept, prototyping, and validation to production.Proficiency in circuit design and analysis, including analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits.Hands-on experience with electronics hardware design, including schematic capture, PCB layout review, and component selection.Knowledge of computer hardware architectures and interfaces relevant to consumer electronics and peripherals.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.Experience with hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers) and lab test equipment.Familiarity with EMC/EMI, safety standards, reliability testing, and design for manufacturability and test.Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional, international teams and to communicate technical information clearly.Track record of leading complex hardware projects and mentoring less-experienced engineers.Experience in consumer electronics, peripherals, or gaming hardware is an advantage.
