We are seeking an experienced Senior Hospital Billing Specialist to oversee hospital billing activities, ensure accurate claims submissions, improve reimbursement processes, and maintain compliance with applicable healthcare billing and insurance requirements.The RoleThe Senior Hospital Billing Specialist will manage complex hospital billing operations, including charge validation, medical coding coordination, insurance claims preparation, reimbursement tracking, and billing discrepancy resolution. The successful candidate will collaborate with finance teams, medical records departments, healthcare providers, insurance companies, and third-party administrators to support accurate billing, timely payments, and effective revenue cycle performance.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee hospital billing activities, including inpatient, outpatient, emergency, surgical, diagnostic, and specialist services.Review patient accounts, treatment records, service charges, and supporting documentation to ensure billing accuracy.Validate medical service charges against approved tariffs, contractual rates, payer agreements, and billing policies.Coordinate with medical coding teams to ensure appropriate coding and accurate representation of healthcare services.Prepare, review, and submit insurance claims in accordance with payer requirements and applicable UAE healthcare billing standards.Monitor claim submission status, reimbursement timelines, outstanding balances, and payment discrepancies.Investigate rejected, denied, underpaid, and delayed claims and coordinate corrective actions.Reconcile hospital billing records against insurance remittances, payment statements, and patient account balances.Coordinate with insurance providers and third-party administrators to resolve billing disputes and reimbursement issues.Review patient invoices, co-payments, deductibles, exclusions, and other applicable financial obligations.Ensure billing practices align with contractual terms, approved fee schedules, and relevant regulatory requirements.Identify recurring billing errors, documentation gaps, and process inefficiencies that may affect revenue collection.Support accounts receivable management, outstanding claim follow-up, and timely resolution of aged accounts.Maintain accurate billing records, audit trails, claim documentation, and supporting financial reports.Prepare periodic reports on billing volumes, collection performance, denial rates, outstanding receivables, and reimbursement trends.Collaborate with clinical, admissions, discharge, medical records, and finance teams to resolve billing discrepancies.Support internal audits, payer audits, compliance reviews, and revenue cycle improvement initiatives.Develop and update billing procedures, work instructions, and quality control checklists.Provide guidance and training to junior billing specialists on billing workflows, documentation requirements, and claim resolution.Maintain the confidentiality and security of patient information and financial records.Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Accounting, Finance, Health Information Management, Business Administration, or a related field.At least 5–8 years of experience in hospital billing, medical claims processing, revenue cycle management, or healthcare finance.Strong understanding of hospital billing workflows, insurance claims processing, reimbursement procedures, and accounts receivable management.Familiarity with UAE healthcare billing requirements, payer contracts, and applicable insurance regulations.Experience reviewing inpatient and outpatient billing records, service charges, and supporting medical documentation.Knowledge of medical coding and classification systems, such as ICD-10-CM and CPT, where applicable to the role and jurisdiction.Experience handling rejected claims, billing disputes, payment reconciliations, and denial management.Proficiency in hospital information systems, billing platforms, claims management software, and Microsoft Excel.Strong analytical, numerical, communication, and problem-solving skills.Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple billing cases and deadlines.Understanding of patient confidentiality, data protection, and healthcare billing compliance.Relevant certifications in medical billing, coding, healthcare finance, or revenue cycle
