The role will provide HSE engineering expertise across energy efficiency, building retrofit, construction, maintenance, and related projects. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, consultants, and site teams to identify risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a strong safety culture throughout project execution.ResponsibilitiesProvide HSE engineering support across project sites, construction activities, building retrofit, maintenance, and related operations.Conduct regular HSE inspections and site assessments to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and areas for improvement.Monitor contractor and workforce compliance with HSE policies, procedures, approved method statements, and safe work practices.Conduct and review risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and hazard identification activities.Investigate incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions, including root cause analysis and corrective action recommendations.Lead and deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, safety briefings, and awareness sessions for project personnel and contractors.Monitor the implementation of corrective and preventive actions resulting from inspections, audits, and incident investigations.Maintain and review HSE documentation, inspection reports, incident records, risk assessments, and compliance registers.Ensure compliance with applicable Saudi regulations, project HSE requirements, and relevant international standards.Support the implementation and continuous improvement of HSE management systems across projects.Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to address HSE issues and maintain safe working environments.Prepare regular HSE reports, performance summaries, and recommendations for project management.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution.3+ years of relevant professional experience in HSE, health and safety, or environmental management.Candidates with extensive experience, including 10+ years, are also encouraged to apply.Professional experience in Saudi Arabia or the GCC is preferred.Demonstrated experience in project coordination, project execution, and/or project management.Relevant professional HSE accreditation or certification.Strong knowledge of workplace health, safety, and environmental requirements.Good command of English, both written and spoken.Strong communication, analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.Required SkillsWorking knowledge of ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.Working knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.Experience with Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems.Knowledge of LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures and confined space entry requirements.Experience with incident investigation and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).Knowledge of Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and risk assessment methodologies.Familiarity with HSE inspection and reporting software/tools.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Knowledge of applicable Saudi HSE regulations and international safety standards.Preferred SkillsNEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or NEBOSH International Diploma.IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent safety management certification.OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification.First Aid and Fire Safety certifications.Experience with energy efficiency, building retrofit, construction, facility management, or maintenance projects.Previous experience working on projects in Saudi Arabia.Experience with contractor HSE management and multidisciplinary project teams.Familiarity with sustainability, environmental compliance, or energy services projects.What We're Looking For We are looking for an experienced HSE professional with strong technical knowledge and the ability to take ownership of HSE activities across project sites.
