The position will require managing a range of consulting projects that may involve working with teams on multi-disciplinary projects; conducting field investigations and physical testing, including data acquisition using software or involving human subjects testing; conducting research to obtain technical data; and reviewing scientific literature and standards.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Develop and maintain a legal and/or proactive consulting practiceComplete site and product inspectionsMeet with colleagues, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projectsPrepare expert reports, deposition summaries, and affidavitsResearch and analyze statutes, regulations, legal articles, and other standard sources; provide written analysis to consultantsPrepare, organize, store, and retrieve case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other itemsProvide deposition and trial testimonyDevelop and maintain records regarding billable hours spent on specific casesRequirementsRequired: master's degree in Cognitive, Experimental, or Industrial Psychology; Neuroscience; Industrial & Systems Engineering; or Human Factors or related fieldPreferred: 3 plus years of work experience in human factors litigation consulting supportPreferred: Ph.D. in Cognitive, Experimental, or Industrial Psychology; Neuroscience; Industrial & Systems Engineering; or Human FactorsPreferred: Board Certification from BCPE and/or Professional Engineer LicenseREQUIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES:Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related mattersExcellent interpersonal and customer service skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environmentAbility to maintain confidentiality and to exercise discretion and good judgmentHave excellent written and verbal communication skillsHave excellent client relations and management skillsMust be knowledgeable about Word, Excel, and PowerPointPHYSICAL DEMANDS, OVERTIME, and TRAVEL: Physical Demands - While performing this job, the employee must frequently stand, walk, sit, climb, bend, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. Must be able to perform field inspections, physically move debris, inspect vehicles (commercial and tractor-trailer), and drive a motor vehicle to job sites. Employees may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Clear vision and depth perception are also necessary.Overtime -This position is classified as salaried with an exempt FLSA status.
