Senior Industrial Designer

REPORTING TO: Team Lead - Industrial DesignTYPE OF ROLE: Individual ContrubutorLOCATION: Mapape, Navi MumbaiBU / DIVISION : Research & DevelopmentJOB PURPOSECreating innovative and visually appealing home appliances that enhance everyday living. This role requires a strong foundation in design principles, creativity, and an eye for detail.As a Senior Industrial Designer, you will lead design projects from concept to production with a strong focus on Design IPR creation.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDesign Execution: Create detailed sketches, renderings, and 3D models to visualize design concepts, and develop high quality prototypes to test and refine designs.Innovation: Identifying opportunities for new and innovative product design and improvements to existing products, ensuring designs are user centric, aligning with brand design guidelines and ergonomically superior.Cross Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible and meet project requirements.Communicate effectively with team members, suppliers, and other stakeholders throughout the design process.Customer Intimacy: Conduct market research and stay UpToDate with industry trends, consumer preferences, and technological advancements to inform design decisions.Material and Process understanding: Good understanding of materials and manufacturing processes to achieve design intent, cost efficiency, and sustainability goals.Maintain awareness of current design trends, materials, and technologies in the home appliance industry and document.NPD process: Understand each milestones' deliverables and make sure the requirements are metDesign Documentation: Creating detailed design specifications and technical drawings for manufacturing, along with maintaining and recording the entire design process for New Product Development (NPD) and Design Registration.EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONSB.Des/M.Des in Industrial/Product /Automotive Design, or an equivalent field.WORK EXPERIENCE5-10 years of professional experience in industrial design, with a significant focus on home appliances/lifestyle/lighting/automotive domainA robust portfolio demonstrating your design process, creativity, and successful products in the home appliance or similar sector.INTERNAL / EXTERNAL INTERFACEIndustrial Design teamED/AD/COE/MarketingFUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIESConceptual Design & Ideation3D Modeling & CADForm, Ergonomics & AestheticsColor, Material & Finish (CMF)Prototyping & VisualizationDesign for Manufacturing (DFM/DFA)Brand & Trend AwarenessUser Experience (UX) & Human FactorsCommunication & PresentationProject & Cross-functional CollaborationMentoring & LeadershipInnovation & Strategic Thinking
