Apply & track with Apply EdgeAs we continue to expand, we are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented, and motivated Senior Industrial / Mechatronics Engineer – Hardware Design, Robotics & Manufacturing to join our team.Role SummaryWe are seeking an experienced engineer from Egypt to lead the design, prototyping, manufacturing, assembly, and testing of hardware products, robotic systems, mechanical bodies, and industrial equipment. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to transform an initial concept into a working, manufacturable product, with strong practical experience in mechanical design, CNC programming, electronics integration, embedded systems, and hardware assembly.Roles and Responsibilities1. Product design and development - Translate business and technical requirements into complete hardware designs, specifications, and working prototypes. - Define product architecture, dimensions, materials, mechanisms, interfaces, and assembly methods. - Take ownership of development from concept through prototype validation and production handover.2. Mechanical bodies and enclosures - Design equipment bodies, chassis, frames, cabinets, enclosures, mounting systems, and internal component layouts. - Produce detailed 3D models, manufacturing drawings, tolerances, and assembly drawings. - Address structural strength, vibration, heat dissipation, environmental protection, accessibility, and maintenance. - Select suitable materials and processes, including sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, casting, molding, and additive manufacturing.3. Robotics and electromechanical systems - Design and integrate robotic mechanisms, motion systems, actuators, motors, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, and positioning assemblies. - Select and integrate sensors, encoders, limit switches, and control components. - Develop reliable mechanisms with appropriate accuracy, repeatability, load capacity, and safety features.4. CNC programming and fabrication - Prepare CAD/CAM models, CNC toolpaths, and machining programs. - Define tooling, fixtures, cutting parameters, machining sequences, and inspection requirements. - Troubleshoot machining and fabrication issues and optimize production time, material use, and component quality.5. Electronics and embedded hardware integration - Select and integrate processors, microcontrollers, embedded computing boards, motor drivers, power supplies, and communication modules. - Interpret electronic schematics, PCB layouts, pin assignments, and component datasheets. - Program and debug microcontroller-based functions and coordinate firmware development with electronics and software engineers. - Ensure proper wiring, grounding, power distribution, connector selection, and thermal management.6. Hardware assembly and testing - Personally support prototype assembly, wiring, mechanical fitting, calibration, and commissioning. - Develop assembly procedures, work instructions, test fixtures, and quality checkpoints. - Investigate failures, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and verify improvements.7. Manufacturing and supplier management - Prepare and maintain bills of materials, technical specifications, and manufacturing documentation. - Evaluate suppliers and fabrication workshops based on capability, quality, cost, and delivery. - Apply design-for-manufacturing and design-for-assembly principles. - Support pilot production and resolve issues before scaling production.8. Technical leadership and documentation - Coordinate mechanical, electronics, firmware, software, and manufacturing activities. - Manage design revisions, engineering changes, technical risks, schedules, and development costs. - Mentor engineers and technicians and maintain accurate, traceable engineering records.Required Skills and Qualifications- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in hardware product development, mechanical design, robotics, mechatronics, or industrial machinery.- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electromechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related discipline.- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, CATIA, Creo, or equivalent mechanical CAD software.- Practical CAD/CAM and CNC programming experience using Mastercam, Fusion 360, Siemens NX CAM, or equivalent, including G-code understanding.- Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerance analysis, material selection, and manufacturing processes.- Demonstrated experience designing mechanical bodies, enclosures, mechanisms, and complete equipment assemblies.- Working knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers, electronics interfaces, and hardware troubleshooting.- Ability to perform or coordinate structural and thermal analysis and validate designs through physical testing.- Strong problem-solving, technical documentation, supplier coordination, and project ownership skills.- Professional working proficiency in English; Arabic communication skills.Preferred Experience- Development of robotics, automated machines, kiosks, printers, inspection equipment, traffic systems, or other integrated hardware products.- Outdoor equipment design involving dust, water, heat, corrosion, and vibration protection.- PCB design, embedded C/C++, industrial communication protocols, and industrial control systems.- Successful transition of products from prototype to repeatable commercial production.Mandatory CV and Project Portfolio SubmissionApplicants must submit an updated CV with a project portfolio attached at the end of the CV or as a clearly referenced appendix. The portfolio must demonstrate hardware products or systems the candidate personally helped design and build. For each project, include:- Project name, year, purpose, and application.- Personal responsibilities: clearly distinguish individual contributions from the wider team’s work.- Scope of design: mechanical body, enclosure, robotics, CNC parts, electronics integration, embedded programming, or assembly.- Tools and technologies used: CAD/CAM software, materials, manufacturing processes, processors, sensors, motors, and other key components.- Evidence: photographs, CAD screenshots, drawings, assembly images, or demonstration videos, where disclosure is permitted.- Development stage: concept, functional prototype, pilot production, or commercial deployment.- Results: performance achieved, quantities produced, cost improvements, reliability improvements, or other measurable outcomes.- Engineering challenges and solutions.Application ProcessConfidential projects may be presented using redacted or anonymized material.
