Lab Technician to support hardware and systems engineering activities in a fast-paced R&D environment. The role involves prototype device setup, lab infrastructure management, device farm operations, hardware/firmware validation, and troubleshooting.The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with prototype hardware, embedded systems, device provisioning, and lab-based testing.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up, configure, and maintain prototype hardware devices and test systems.Perform device provisioning, firmware flashing, and configuration updates.Maintain lab infrastructure, including racks, devices, cables, and power/network connectivity.Manage and monitor device farms supporting automated testing workflows.Ensure devices and infrastructure remain operational and ready for CI testing.Execute hardware, firmware, functional, regression, performance, and reliability tests.Troubleshoot device failures, connectivity issues, and test anomalies.Capture logs, investigate failures, perform root-cause analysis, and escalate defects.Support prototype bring-up, debugging sessions, and hardware validation cycles.Maintain lab inventory, equipment calibration, safety, and documentation.Collaborate with Hardware, Firmware, Systems Engineering, and Infrastructure teams.Coordinate with third-party vendors for hardware equipment and accessories.Required Qualificationsyears of experience in lab infrastructure, hardware validation, or test lab environments.Hands-on experience with consumer electronics, embedded systems, or prototype devices.Strong knowledge of device setup, configuration, provisioning, and hardware troubleshooting.Familiarity with Linux and command-line operations.Ability to analyze logs, document test results, and track issues systematically.Experience following structured test procedures in an engineering environment.Strong troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience with device automation environments or CI/CD test infrastructure such as Jenkins.Basic scripting knowledge in Python or Shell.Exposure to Android/iOS debugging tools such as ADB and Logcat.Familiarity with networking, device provisioning, and lab-scale hardware setups.Experience with AR/VR, wearable devices, or consumer hardware R&D environments.EducationAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in:Electrical/Electronics EngineeringComputer EngineeringComputer ScienceWork EnvironmentOnsite, 5 days per week.Fast-paced hardware R&D environment with rapid development and testing cycles.Flexibility to support debugging activities and time-sensitive validation schedules.
