Senior Integration Engineer – Workato

About the RoleWe are looking for a Senior Integration Engineer with strong hands-on Workato experience to design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable integration solutions across enterprise applications, cloud platforms, SaaS products, and third-party systems.The role will focus on building and optimizing enterprise integrations using Workato, APIs, event-driven architecture, cloud services, and automation technologies. You will work closely with business, product, platform, and technical teams to translate requirements into robust and reusable integration solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise integrations using Workato.Build and manage Workato recipes, workflows, connectors, and reusable integration components.Integrate enterprise applications, SaaS platforms, databases, APIs, and third-party systems using Workato and API-based integration patterns.Design and develop integrations using REST APIs, GraphQL, webhooks, and event-driven architectures.Analyze business and technical requirements and determine the appropriate integration approach.Develop reusable integration patterns, connectors, and components to improve delivery efficiency and system interoperability.Configure and implement authentication, authorization, data transformation, error handling, retry mechanisms, and exception management.Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Workato integrations for performance, reliability, scalability, security, and cost.Maintain and enhance existing integrations while identifying opportunities for automation and continuous improvement.Implement automated functional, integration, and performance testing.Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes where applicable.Apply DevOps and infrastructure-as-code practices to support scalable and repeatable integration deployments.Collaborate with business, product, platform, architecture, and engineering teams to translate requirements into effective integration solutions.Contribute to integration standards, architecture patterns, technical documentation, reusable frameworks, and best practices.Participate in Agile ceremonies, technical discussions, solution design, development, testing, and production support activities.Required QualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.Professional Experience5–7+ years of experience in software engineering, integration development, API development, backend engineering, or a related technical role.Strong hands-on experience with Workato is required.Proven experience designing and developing enterprise integrations using Workato.Experience integrating SaaS applications, enterprise systems, databases, APIs, and third-party platforms.Strong experience with REST APIs, webhooks, data transformation, and authentication mechanisms.Experience working with cloud-based platforms and enterprise integration architectures.Experience working in Agile delivery environments and collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Technical SkillsWorkato & IntegrationWorkato recipe development and orchestrationWorkato connectors and custom connectorsREST API and API-based integrationsWebhooks and event-driven integrationsData mapping and transformationError handling and exception managementRetry and recovery mechanismsIntegration monitoring and troubleshootingWorkato API Platform / API management is an advantageAPI & Software EngineeringREST and GraphQL APIsAPI design and developmentEnterprise integration patternsEvent-driven architectureBackend development and software engineering principlesAutomated functional, integration, and performance testingCloud & DevOpsExperience with AWS, Azure, or GCPCI/CD pipelines and automated deploymentsDevOps practicesInfrastructure as CodeCloud-based integration servicesMonitoring, logging, and performance optimizationAdditional Integration PlatformsExperience with MuleSoft, Boomi, Informatica, or similar integration platforms is an advantage.
