The successful candidate will independently assess business risks, evaluate internal controls, identify process and control gaps, analyze operational and financial data, and provide practical recommendations that add measurable value to the business.We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in Operations & Maintenance (O&M), Facility Management, Contracting, Construction, Engineering, Infrastructure, EPC, Projects, or other large and mature organizations with complex operations.Candidates from listed companies, major groups, large/mature organizations, or recognized consulting and advisory firms will also be strongly considered where they demonstrate solid operational audit, risk assessment, analytical, and advisory capabilities.This position requires strong professional judgment, independence, business understanding, stakeholder management, and the confidence to engage with management across different business functions.Key ResponsibilitiesIndependently plan and execute end-to-end risk-based internal audit engagements, including planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, reporting, and follow-up.Conduct operational, financial, compliance, and process audits, with particular emphasis on operational and business risks.Perform risk assessments to identify key risks, control weaknesses, process gaps, and areas requiring management attention.Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls, governance, and risk management processes.Review key business functions such as Operations, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Procurement, Finance, Projects, Contracts, HR, and other corporate or operational functions as assigned.Develop risk-based audit programs, testing procedures, sampling methodologies, and audit working papers.Use data analysis and analytical review techniques to identify trends, anomalies, exceptions, unusual transactions, control weaknesses, and emerging risks.Perform process walkthroughs, controls testing, document reviews, stakeholder interviews, and other audit procedures to obtain sufficient and reliable audit evidence.Conduct root-cause analysis of identified issues rather than focusing only on symptoms or isolated exceptions.Translate audit findings into clear, practical, and value-adding recommendations that strengthen controls, improve processes, mitigate risks, or enhance operational effectiveness.Prepare high-quality audit reports with clear observations, risk implications, root causes, and actionable recommendations.Present and discuss audit findings professionally with process owners, management, and relevant stakeholders.Support enterprise and departmental risk assessments and contribute to the development of the Annual Internal Audit Plan.Monitor management action plans and perform follow-up reviews to verify timely and effective remediation of audit findings.Provide advisory input on internal controls, risk management, governance, and process improvement where appropriate while maintaining Internal Audit independence.Maintain complete, accurate, and high-quality audit documentation in accordance with departmental methodology and applicable professional standards.Support and guide junior Internal Audit team members when required.Maintain strict confidentiality, professional skepticism, objectivity, independence, and integrity throughout all assignments.Travel to company projects and operational sites across Saudi Arabia when required.Support critical audit assignments outside normal working hours when reasonably required.Required Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or another relevant discipline.Minimum 4 years of relevant professional experience in Internal Audit, Risk Advisory, Risk & Controls, Assurance, or a closely related field.Candidates with approximately 7 years of total experience are preferred; however, candidates with 4+ years will be strongly considered where they have developed high-quality experience within a listed company, major group, large/mature organization, or recognized consulting/advisory firm.Demonstrated hands-on exposure to operational and risk-based auditing, rather than experience limited primarily to financial auditing.Strong understanding of risk assessment, internal controls, governance, audit methodologies, and business processes.Ability to independently identify and assess risks and control gaps across multiple business functions.Strong analytical and data-oriented mindset, with demonstrated ability to use data and evidence to support audit conclusions.Exposure to auditing key functions such as Operations, SCM/Procurement, Finance, Projects, Contracts, or other complex operational areas.Strong report-writing skills with the ability to develop clear, evidence-based, and commercially practical recommendations.Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, including confidence when discussing findings with management.High standards of ethics, integrity, confidentiality, independence, and professional judgment.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Willingness to travel within Saudi Arabia based on audit requirements.Preferred Experience & QualificationsExperience within O&M, Facility Management, Contracting, Construction, Engineering, Infrastructure, EPC, Industrial Services, Projects, or another complex operational environment.Experience within a Saudi-listed company, major corporate group, large/mature organization, Big 4 firm, or established consulting/advisory organization.Previous experience in consulting, risk advisory, internal audit advisory, controls advisory, business process improvement, or related advisory work.Demonstrated ability to go beyond identifying audit findings by recommending improvements that create practical business value.Professional certification, or active progress toward certification, such as:CIA – Certified Internal AuditorCISA – Certified Information Systems AuditorSOCPACFE – Certified Fraud ExaminerOther relevant audit, risk, governance, accounting, or assurance qualificationsFamiliarity with the IIA Global Internal Audit Standards and recognized internal control/risk frameworks.Experience with ERP systems, audit management systems, or data analytics tools.Advanced Excel, Power BI, SQL, ACL/HighBond, IDEA, or similar data-analysis experience is an advantage.Key CompetenciesRisk-Based Internal AuditingOperational AuditingEnterprise & Process Risk AssessmentInternal Controls EvaluationData & Analytical ReviewRoot-Cause AnalysisBusiness Process UnderstandingAudit Planning & ExecutionAudit Report WritingGovernance & ComplianceConsulting & Advisory MindsetStakeholder ManagementProfessional SkepticismIndependent JudgmentProblem SolvingIntegrity & ObjectivityIdeal Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate is not limited to identifying control failures.
