Senior Iot Engineer

Job Summary:We are looking for a Senior IoT Engineer to design and develop scalable IoT platforms capable of processing high volumes of real-time device data. The role requires strong experience with Kafka, Apache Flink, Redis, big-data processing, distributed systems, and IoT communication protocols. The engineer will work on systems involving GPS tracking devices, sensors, telemetry, vehicle tracking, asset tracking, and other connected-device solutions.Key Responsibilities:· Design and develop scalable IoT ingestion and processing platforms.· Build real-time data pipelines using Apache Kafka and Apache Flink.· Process large volumes of telemetry, GPS, sensor, and event data.· Design event-driven and streaming architectures.· Develop device communication services for TCP/IP and other IoT protocols.· Implement data transformation, filtering, enrichment, aggregation, and event processing.· Design scalable data storage strategies for high-volume IoT datasets.· Implement real-time caching and state management using Redis.· Develop APIs and backend services for IoT platforms.· Integrate GPS trackers, sensors, BLE devices, cameras, gateways, and other IoT hardware.· Analyze device protocols and implement protocol parsers.· Manage device sessions and persistent TCP connections.· Implement geofencing, telemetry analysis, alerts, rules, and event-processing functionality.· Optimize systems handling millions of messages and high-frequency device updates.· Participate in architecture decisions related to scalability, availability, partitioning, and fault tolerance.· Troubleshoot production issues across IoT devices, networking, streaming platforms, and backend services.· Implement monitoring and observability for IoT pipelines.· Work closely with backend, DevOps, mobile, QA, and infrastructure teams.· Evaluate and integrate new IoT devices and protocols.Required Skills & Experience:· 5+ years of software engineering experience with significant exposure to IoT or real-time systems.· Strong knowledge of Apache Kafka.· Hands-on experience with Apache Flink or similar stream-processing technologies.· Strong experience with Redis.· Strong understanding of distributed systems.· Experience processing high-volume real-time datasets.· Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and socket programming.· Experience implementing or integrating device communication protocols.· Knowledge of MQTT, TCP/UDP, HTTP/HTTPS, WebSocket, and BLE.· Experience with Java, Kotlin, Go, Python, or similar backend languages.· Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, TimescaleDB, ClickHouse, or other data platforms.· Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.· Good knowledge of Linux and networking.· Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting distributed services.Preferred Qualifications· Experience with GPS tracking and fleet-management platforms.· Knowledge of GPS device protocols such as Teltonika, Queclink, Concox, GT06, Huabao, or similar.· Experience with geospatial technologies and GIS.· Experience with MongoDB and large time-series collections.· Knowledge of Kafka Streams.· Experience handling tens or hundreds of thousands of simultaneously connected devices.· Familiarity with LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, RFID, BLE, or cellular IoT technologies.· Experience with high-availability and disaster-recovery architectures.
