We are heavily funded ($170M+ raised to date) and supported by top-tier global investors.The RoleWe are seeking a highly strategic, execution-focused Senior IT Director to lead and scale our global corporate IT infrastructure, operations, and service delivery. Reporting to the executive leadership team, you will be responsible for defining the IT roadmap, safeguarding internal enterprise systems, and managing global IT budget and procurement.Since Alpaca operates a high-throughput, cloud-native trading platform under strict financial regulations (SEC, FINRA, MSB), your role will bridge the gap between world-class internal IT service delivery, robust information security controls, and complex regulatory compliance. What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)Strategic IT Leadership: Shape, execute, and scale Alpaca’s global IT strategy to support an expanding, fully-remote workforce across multiple time zones. Enterprise Infrastructure & SaaS Management: Oversee the lifecycle, architecture, and integration of corporate SaaS platforms (e.g., Google Workspace, Slack, Jira, Rippling, Okta, and MDM solutions).Compliance & Security Alignment: Partner closely with our InfoSec, Risk, and Compliance teams to implement industry-standard corporate IT controls (SOC 2, ISO 27001) and comply with global financial regulatory mandates. Global Asset & Access Management: Modernize identity and access management (IAM), zero-trust architecture, automated employee onboarding/offboarding, and international hardware logistics.Team Scaling & Mentorship: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing internal IT operations and helpdesk support team. Budget & Vendor Management: Manage global IT procurement, negotiate enterprise vendor contracts, optimize SaaS spend, and align tech stacks with corporate financial goals. Who You Are (Requirements)Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate IT operations, with at least 4+ years leading IT engineering/operations teams at a high-growth technology or FinTech company.FinTech/Regulated Environment Background: Direct experience operating in heavily regulated spaces (FinTech, InsurTech, or Banking) with an acute understanding of SOC 2, audit trails, and strict asset access control management.Remote-First Mastery: Proven track record of architecting IT processes, provisioning hardware, and maintaining strong corporate alignment for a 100% remote, globally distributed workforce.Technical Breadth: Deep expertise in IAM/IdP platforms (Okta), Zero-Trust security models, Cloud-Native productivity suites, and multi-platform MDM systems (Jamf, Kandji, Intune).Communication & Culture: Strong business-level English communication skills.
