Join a team that is dedicated to delivering groundbreaking products and making a significant impact on our clients' success. www.IPC.comOverview of the Team The IT Server Systems Engineer team is responsible for supporting the IT Server Infrastructure and Systems, which includes design, implement, manage, and optimization our server infrastructure support along with on-going maintenance, and future development of company’s IT Server Services & Cloud Infrastructure. This role requires occasional out of hours and weekend work. Role Overview: The IT Server Systems Engineer will be responsible for resolving escalated issues, diagnosing and addressing performance challenges, and supporting system maintenance and upgrade activities—occasionally scheduled over weekends. The role involves end to end project management, contributing as a technical resource on larger initiatives, and hands-on server builds.Server Administration: Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers (Windows/Linux). Monitoring & Performance: Proactively monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal system uptime. Security: Implement and manage security measures, including patches, firewalls, and access controls, to safeguard data and systems. Backup & Recovery: Develop and maintain disaster recovery and backup strategies to ensure business continuity. Automation & Scripting: Create scripts and tools to automate server deployment, configuration, and maintenance. Upgrades & Migrations: Plan and execute server upgrades, migrations, and patch management. Collaboration: Work closely with network engineers, Security engineers, DevOps, and IT support teams to deliver a stable and scalable environment. Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of server infrastructure, configurations, and procedures. Essential Skills and Experience to be Successful in this Role: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent (7+ years) related work experience. Proven experience as a Server Engineer, Systems Administrator, or similar role. Strong knowledge and experience in hybrid infrastructure environments: Windows and Linux systems. Virtualization technologies (VMware, or Hyper-V). Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and GCP), including deployment, configuration, and management of cloud resources such as Azure AD, virtual networks, storage solutions, and security services. Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure, Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or Python for scripting and automation. Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy. Hands-on experience administering hybrid identity across on-prem Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, including federation and conditional access with multi-cloud IAM (AWS IAM, GCP IAM), Office 365, and Microsoft Exchange. Skilled in implementing and managing multi-factor authentication (MFA) for secure access. Working knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tooling (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation) for provisioning and managing resources across multi-cloud environments.Hands-on experience with security engineering tasks such as vulnerability assessment, remediation tracking, and endpoint/EDR tooling, in addition to general system security controls. Experience supporting or coordinating infrastructure across multiple regions/time zones (e.g., APAC, EMEA, Americas) in a follow-the-sun or globally distributed support model. Experience providing technical mentorship or guidance to junior engineers on server, cloud, and automation initiatives. Understanding of SSL certificate managements and encryption. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and documentation. Ability to create and maintain strong working relationships. Demonstrated ability to remain composed under pressure while maintaining a constructive and positive mindset. Desired Skills and Experience: Solid understanding of scalable security infrastructures, with practical knowledge of tools for email filtering, vulnerability assessment, and proactive threat prevention. Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Knowledge of monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, or equivalent). Understanding of ITIL processes and best practices. Familiarity with backup and recovery platforms such as Veeam or Commvault. Familiarity with enterprise storage platforms such as PowerStore or EMC.
