Senior Java Backend Developer

With more than 1200 consultants across 10 countries, we combine business and IT expertise to support leading institutions in transformation projects.Our core areas:➡ Quantitative Finance➡ Risk & Compliance➡ Operations & Finance➡ Transformation & Organization➡ Information Systems.🔎 We are looking for a Senior Java Backend Developer Join a modernization project within the Risk department, developing a platform responsible for loading, certifying, and publishing the bank’s Profit & Loss (P&L) results.📝 MAIN TASKSDevelop and modernize backend services using Java and Spring Boot.Contribute to the redesign of core P&L processing and data integration workflows.Work with SingleStore DB, Kafka, and OpenShift as part of the platform’s modernization.Analyze application requirements and deliver reliable solutions aligned with software development best practices.Build and maintain automated tests in an Agile and TDD environment.Identify opportunities to improve existing processes, application performance, and maintainability.Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle.🧩 YOUR PROFILE AND SKILLSUniversity degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.At least 6 years of experience in Java backend development.Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot.Solid SQL skills and experience with relational databases, such as SQL Server or Sybase.Strong experience developing automated tests using TDD and/or BDD approaches.Experience with distributed data technologies, such as Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, or Kafka, is highly valued.Knowledge of microservices, containers, ETL processes, and CI/CD is highly valued.Previous experience or knowledge of Financial Services is a plus.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Good communication skills, a proactive attitude, and an innovative mindset.Fluency in English, with a minimum B2 level required.French language skills are a plus.Position based in Porto.🎁 WHAT WE OFFERA competitive salary defined according to the candidate’s experience and competencies.Permanent contract (CTI).Meal allowance.Health Insurance.Extra holiday: Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve.Access to Quanteam Academy for continuous learning and certifications.Elevate Program to support professional development and career growth.Career progression plan.Ongoing follow-up and technical support provided by a Consultant Expert.
