Senior Java Software Engineer

bout the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer to join our client's development team in the Netherlands. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java 17, Spring Boot 3, Microsoft Azure, and modern DevOps practices. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable cloud-native applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java 17 and Spring Boot 3.Build secure, scalable, and high-performance RESTful APIs and microservices.Develop and deploy cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure.Collaborate with architects, product owners, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software.Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub.Participate in code reviews and promote clean coding best practices.Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.Write unit and integration tests to ensure software quality.Work in an Agile/Scrum environment and actively contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives.Required Skills5+ years of hands-on experience in Java development.Strong expertise in Java 17.Experience with Spring Boot 3 and Spring Framework.Strong knowledge of REST APIs and Microservices architecture.Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services.Experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipeline implementation.Strong experience using GitHub for version control and collaboration.Knowledge of Docker and containerized application development.Familiarity with SQL databases and ORM frameworks such as Hibernate/JPA.Understanding of software design patterns and clean architecture.Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong verbal and written English communication skills.Nice to HaveExperience with Kubernetes or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).Experience with messaging platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.Knowledge of Terraform or Infrastructure as Code (IaC).Experience with monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Grafana, or Application Insights.Exposure to security best practices, OAuth2, JWT, or OpenID Connect.
