Experience limited to routine garden maintenance does not meet the requirements of this role.SCOPE OF WORKSHardscape: paving, natural stone, porcelain, interlock, kerbs, walkways, plazas, steps, ramps, and external decking.Landscape structures and features: planters, pergolas, canopies, boundary walls, fences, gates, seating, and outdoor furniture.Softscape: trees, palms, shrubs, groundcovers, turf, planting soils, soil improvements, mulching, and plant establishment.Irrigation: drip and sprinkler systems, valves, controllers, filtration, and interfaces with pumps and water supplies.Site grading, surface drainage, planter drainage, and interfaces with waterproofing and underground services.Coordination of landscape lighting, signage, water features, and swimming pool interfaces where included in the project scope.DESIGN & TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop landscape concepts, layouts, and design proposals reflecting the project brief, site conditions, intended use, budget, and maintenance needs.Prepare coordinated hardscape and softscape drawings, setting-out plans, levels, sections, construction details, planting plans, schedules, and specifications.Select plants suited to local climate, soil, salinity, exposure, water availability, and long-term maintenance requirements.Develop irrigation layouts, zoning, and water demand calculations within demonstrated competence, coordinating specialist hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical requirements.Coordinate levels, slopes, drainage, accessibility, utilities, lighting, and landscape structures with the relevant disciplines.Prepare quantity take-offs, bills of quantities, material schedules, and technical comparisons of proposed alternatives.Review supplier and specialist subcontractor drawings, materials, samples, and technical data.Prepare RFIs and technical submissions, address consultant comments, and maintain drawing revisions and approval records.Identify elements requiring specialist structural or MEP design and obtain the necessary coordination and approvals before execution.Prepare as-built drawings and operation, maintenance, and handover information.SITE EXECUTION, QUALITY & SAFETYPlan daily activities and supervise foremen, labour, suppliers, and subcontractors across hardscape, softscape, and irrigation works.Verify setting-out, levels, slopes, substrate preparation, material approvals, and work-area readiness before installation.Personally inspect paving, finishes, joints, interfaces, installation quality, and compliance with approved details and samples.Inspect plants at nurseries and upon delivery for approved species, sizes, condition, and root quality.Check planting soil preparation, planting methods, staking, protection, irrigation coverage, and establishment care.Inspect irrigation installation and follow up on specified pressure, leakage, flushing, and operational tests.Verify drainage and waterproofing interfaces and required inspections before covering completed work.Prepare inspection requests, attend consultant inspections, document defects and non-conformances, and verify corrective actions.Execute mock-ups and benchmark areas and maintain the approved quality standard throughout the works.Coordinate procurement, deliveries, storage, site resources, and installation sequences.Track quantities, productivity, progress, and material usage; prepare short-term plans and reports and address delays and rework.Manage snagging, handover, plant replacement, and establishment-period obligations within the contract scope.Direct safe working practices, brief workers on hazards, and monitor PPE, access, housekeeping, excavation, lifting, tools, chemicals, and heat exposure.Stop unsafe activities and escalate hazards to project management for corrective action.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Engineering, or a relevant engineering discipline. Agricultural Engineering graduates are welcome if they demonstrate strong hardscape and softscape design and execution experience.Minimum 5 years of relevant landscape experience, including at least 3 years within Saudi Arabia.Demonstrated experience in both landscape design and hands-on site execution.Relevant experience on large-scale hospitality, commercial, and residential developments, with clearly identified personal responsibilities.Strong knowledge of hardscape materials, construction details, planting practices, irrigation systems, and local plant suitability.Ability to prepare coordinated drawings, specifications, schedules, and quantity take-offs.Ability to directly supervise contractors and inspect materials, plants, workmanship, and corrective works.Familiarity with applicable Saudi codes, municipal requirements, and project specifications.Practical knowledge of site safety and occupational health.Advanced AutoCAD proficiency and strong Excel skills.Ability to prepare design presentations using suitable 3D or visualisation software.Ability to prepare technical correspondence and reports in English.Strong design judgement, attention to detail, leadership, follow-up, and deadline management.Currently based in Saudi Arabia and available for immediate joining and full-time, on-site work in Huraymila, Riyadh Region.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience with luxury hotels, resorts, residential compounds, and high-end public or commercial spaces.Experience taking projects from concept and detailed design through execution and handover.Experience with water-efficient irrigation and climate-appropriate planting.Familiarity with Revit, BIM coordination, and Navisworks.Relevant training in irrigation, horticulture, construction quality, or occupational health and safety.HOW TO APPLYCandidates meeting all essential requirements are invited to email:hr@aljammaz-co.comEmail subject:Senior Landscape Engineer – Full Name – Current CityRequired attachments:Updated CV: Include employers, employment dates, and relevant Saudi Arabia experience.Design and execution portfolio: A concise PDF with design layouts, detailed drawings, planting or irrigation plans, and photographs of completed works.
