Senior / Lead .NET Developer

Location: Dublin (Hybrid)Salary: €100,000 – €110,000 + Pension & HealthcareContract Rate: €500 per dayOverviewWe are looking for an experienced Senior / Lead .NET Developer to play a pivotal role in the design, development, and ongoing enhancement of modern distributed applications. This opportunity suits a hands-on technical leader who is passionate about building high-quality software, influencing architecture, mentoring engineers, and promoting engineering excellence across teams.You will contribute to the delivery of cloud-native solutions built on .NET Core, with a strong focus on microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design and development of scalable, high-performance applications using .NET Core and C#.Drive architectural decisions across distributed systems and microservices-based platforms.Promote software engineering best practices, coding standards, and design principles.Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentorship to development teams.Contribute to solution architecture, technical strategy, and continuous improvement initiatives.Ensure applications are reliable, maintainable, and highly observable in production environments.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and high-quality solutions.Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.Investigate and resolve complex production issues, implementing sustainable long-term fixes.Required Skills & ExperienceDegree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.8+ years of commercial software development experience with .NET and C#.Strong expertise in .NET Core and modern backend application development.Proven experience designing and building message-driven distributed systems.Solid background working with microservices architectures.Strong understanding of software design principles and architectural patterns.Experience implementing industry best practices for application design and coding standards.Ability to influence technical direction and deliver innovative solutions.Capable of working effectively in fast-paced environments and meeting challenging deadlines.Self-driven with a proactive approach and the ability to lead by example.Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.Desirable ExperienceExperience with any of the following technologies would be advantageous:Angular, AngularJS and TypeScriptCosmos DBAzure Service BusNServiceBusMicrosoft AzureDocker and AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service)
