RESPONSIBILITIES Teaching & LearningUndertake teaching and teaching related duties such as design, preparation and development of teaching materials; conduct classes/lectures, tutorials and practicals; consultation with students, invigilation, marking and assessmentTeach and assess modules related to Professional Practice, including professional ethics, contract administration, project management, and regulatory frameworksParticipate and contribute in high quality programme and curriculum developmentPlan and implement teaching strategies to optimise student learning as well as to motivate themSupport in research project work and scholarship of postgraduate studentsLead and facilitate Architectural Design Studio modules across various levels of studyEstablish and maintain high standards of teaching and effective learning to meet the University’s teaching and learning expectations ResearchParticipate in scholarly activities, including undertaking research, conference presentation, journal publications and relevant community workSupport efforts to secure grants for research activities and scholarship as co-researcherAchieve the specified set of research outcome targets for Senior Lecturer level of appointment Administration and Other ActivitiesUndertake and contribute in administrative responsibilities such as attending departmental meetings, participate in committees and working groups within the Department, School and FacultyParticipate in continuous relevant professional activitiesAssist in establishing linkages with external organisations/ professional bodies in academic related matters REQUIREMENTSPossess a Doctoral Degree from a recognised university in Architecture / Built EnvironmentRegistered as Graduate Architect LAM Part II. A registered Professional Architect (Ar.) LAM Part III with the Board of Architects Malaysia (LAM) is an added advantageDemonstrated capability to teach Professional Practice modulesCandidate must have at least two (2) years of experience in teaching / research / industryPossess a strong publication record with at least two (2) Q1/Q2 publications in C.I. journals (ISI, SCOPUS) in the last 5 yearsSecured research grant(s) as a Principal Investigator worth RM20,000 - RM30,000 (cumulative)Experience working in higher education environment and a track record of teaching experience and professional knowledge of curriculum development or good record of professional experience with evidence of coaching and mentoring and a high quality of presentation skillsExperience in developing teaching methodologies and materials, including the effective use of IT technologies in the facilitation of teaching and learningExperience working on research projects and activities or experience of professional practice/consultancy work, including evidence of appropriate outputs
