Day-to-day activities include preparing and conducting lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions; supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research; and providing academic advising and mentoring. The role involves engaging in scholarly research, publishing in reputable journals, and contributing to grant applications and collaborative projects in line with the university’s sustainability and purpose-driven mission. The Senior Lecturer will also participate in departmental committees, quality assurance activities, and community or industry engagement initiatives that strengthen USM’s global partnerships. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Georgetown.Qualifications Possess strong teaching, curriculum development, and student assessment skills, with a commitment to innovative and inclusive pedagogy.Demonstrate research, academic writing, and publication skills, including the ability to secure research funding and collaborate on interdisciplinary projects.Exhibit skills in academic mentoring, supervision of research students, and guidance in purpose-driven and sustainability-focused learning.Show competence in communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for effective engagement with students, colleagues, and external partners.Hold a doctoral degree (PhD) in a relevant discipline and have a record of scholarly achievements appropriate for a Senior Lecturer appointment.Bring experience in university-level teaching and evidence of contributions to academic governance, program development, or accreditation processes.Demonstrate commitment to sustainability, ethical practice, and community or industry engagement aligned with USM’s mission and values.Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment and to contribute to internationalization efforts and global academic networks.
