You will oversee programme delivery across modules, ensuring academic quality, consistency of the student experience, curriculum enhancement and compliance with institutional and awarding partner requirements. You will work with and line manage the programme team to ensure the effective delivery of the programme as a whole. You will provide strategic and operational oversight of programme delivery, fostering a collaborative academic environment and supporting high-quality teaching, assessment, student support, curriculum development and quality assurance.The role requires a broad understanding of business principles, including entrepreneurship, strategy, marketing, innovation, operations and professional practice. You will bring insight into how creative thinking supports problem-solving, value creation and decision-making within contemporary business and the creative and cultural industries.You will support students in developing business ideas, strategies and ventures through research, experimentation, critical analysis and reflective practice. This includes helping students translate ideas into viable business models, compelling propositions and professionally presented outcomes that respond to industry challenges and entrepreneurial opportunities.Key ResponsibilitiesProgramme Leadership (Business and Management) Provide academic leadership and operational oversight for the Business and Management for Creatives programme, ensuring delivery in accordance with VCAD and awarding partner regulations, policies and quality standards.Lead and coordinate the programme team, line managing academic staff and supporting their professional development, performance and teaching delivery.Oversee module delivery, ensuring consistency and high standards in teaching, assessment, feedback and student support.Monitor programme performance, including student achievement, progression, retention, attendance and satisfaction, implementing enhancement plans where required.Lead programme review, annual monitoring, quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.Use student feedback, external examiner reports, assessment outcomes and sector practice to inform programme enhancement.Chair programme team meetings and represent the programme at relevant committees, quality events and review processes.Work with academic and professional services colleagues to support recruitment, admissions, induction, progression, completion and the overall student experience.Act as the primary academic point of contact for the Business and Management for Creatives programme.Teaching and Module Delivery Plan, develop and deliver high-quality, student-centred lectures, seminars, tutorials and workshops for assigned modules.Use a range of effective teaching methods to support different learning needs and promote engagement and inclusivity.Maintain current knowledge of relevant subject areas and ensure teaching content reflects contemporary industry practice and academic developments.Assessment and FeedbackDesign, manage and assess formative and summative coursework, ensuring fairness, transparency and relevance.Provide succinct, constructive, coherent and timely feedback to support students’ academic development, reflection and progression.Ensure assessment and feedback practices align with expectations across the English Higher Education sector.Student Support and GuidanceAct as an academic advisor and mentor, providing guidance on academic matters and professional development.Organise and participate in student engagement, learning support and academic integrity activities.Support individual student needs, including reasonable adjustments, and refer students to appropriate support services where required.Curriculum and Module DevelopmentWork with faculty, management, students and external stakeholders to develop and enhance curricula in response to industry and academic developments.Develop and update teaching resources, including reading lists, case studies, practical exercises and online learning content.Participate in Academic Development Committees and curriculum review activities, including the development of new and revised programmes.Quality Assurance and Continuous ImprovementTake responsibility for the academic quality and standards of the Business and Management for Creatives programme.Ensure compliance with internal quality assurance requirements, awarding partner expectations and relevant sector frameworks.Review programme data and quality measures to identify areas for enhancement and improve student outcomes.Respond to recommendations from external examiners, partner reviews, validation events and quality audits.Adhere to VCAD and partner institution policies, procedures and quality assurance standards.Participate in peer review, teaching observation and evaluation processes to support the enhancement of teaching practice.Professional DevelopmentParticipate in professional development activities, keeping abreast of innovations and developments within the field of higher education teaching and learning and regulatory requirements.Administrative and Departmental ResponsibilitiesUndertake administrative duties relating to teaching, timetabling, module coordination, course management, marking, grading and other activities required for the effective running of the programme.Attend and participate in departmental meetings and contribute to departmental objectives.Support open days, student recruitment, induction, knowledge transfer and outreach activities.Contribute to VCAD initiatives including diversity and inclusion, digital learning and community engagement.Staff Management and Leadership Responsibilities As Programme Leader, you will undertake line management responsibilities for members of the Business and Management for Creatives teaching team.Responsibilities include:Providing day-to-day academic leadership and management of the teaching team.Conducting one-to-one meetings, probation reviews, performance reviews and development discussions.Supporting staff in enhancing teaching practice, assessment design, student engagement and professional development.Monitoring workload allocation, teaching delivery, assessment practices and compliance with institutional policies.Promoting effective teamwork, communication and the sharing of good practice.Contributing to recruitment, induction and mentoring of new academic staff where required.Escalating staffing, performance, quality or student-related concerns to the Deputy Dean as appropriate.The Programme Leader role is a designated leadership responsibility undertaken alongside the substantive Senior Lecturer post and will be recognised in accordance with VCAD workload allocation, remission and reward policies.Qualifications & ExperienceEssential Bachelor’s degree.Experience of teaching.Knowledge of the Higher Education sector in England.Experience of designing and developing teaching content.Confidence and ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively to a class of students.Ability to utilise a range of digital platforms, particularly Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365.Enthusiasm, knowledge, and experience within your specialist area.Desirable Master’s degree.Recognised teaching qualification.Relevant professional experience in an associated or
