The institution is committed to widening access to high-quality, accredited higher education that responds to the evolving needs of students and the demands of a dynamic world of work.STADIO offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes through contact and distance learning modalities, with a strong emphasis on industry-relevant qualifications that prepare graduates for meaningful and sustainable careers.As part of the establishment of its new Rustenburg City Campus, STADIO Higher Education invites applications for five Senior Lecturer positions with expertise and specialization in the qualification areas indicated below, representing five of STADIO’s academic Schools.Available Positions and Academic PortfoliosSenior Lecturer: School of Education Higher Certificate in Pre-School Education Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase TeachingSenior Lecturer: School of Information Technology Higher Certificate in Software Development Bachelor of Business Information SystemsSenior Lecturer: School of Law Higher Certificate in Paralegal Studies Bachelor of LawsSenior Lecturer: School of Commerce Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting BCom with a Major in Financial ManagementSenior Lecturer: School of Administration and Management Higher Certificate in Management, with specialist focus area in Human Resource Management, Project Management, Public Sector Management, and Health and Safety Management Bachelor of Business Administration, with specialist focus area in Human Resource Management, Project Management, and Public Sector ManagementPurpose of the RoleEach Senior Lecturer will serve as the permanent academic representative of the relevant School at the Rustenburg City Campus. The role will be to facilitate group classes and seminars on the campus, manage the academic project and ensure and assure quality, provide academic guidance and student support within STADIO’s supported distance learning model.The Senior Lecturer will serve as an important connection between students, the School, the campus and STADIO’s broader academic environment. The role will ensure the consistent delivery of approved curricula, ongoing engagement with Module and Programme Coordinators, monitoring of student participation and progress, and the creation of a structured and supportive learning environment that promotes student success.The successful candidate will also manage the academic project of the relevant School at the campus, under the direction of the Head of School, and represent the School on the campus Manco. The incumbent will also be required to support the Head of Campus in facilitating a campus environment that is student centered and adheres to STADIO’s commitments to widening access and promoting workplace relevance.Key Roles and Responsibilities:Teaching and LearningPlan, prepare and deliver engaging lectures in-venue and online, as required.Develop academic material aligned with approved curricula, study materials and class activity plans for the in-person support sessions as well as online on STADIO’s Learning Management System.Apply student-centered and technology-enhanced teaching methods.Engage with Module and Programme Coordinators to support consistent and effective programme delivery.Contribute to programme review and continuous improvement initiatives.Promote a positive, inclusive and professionally relevant student learning experience.Assessment and Academic QualityAssess formative, summative and other relevant student work accurately and within prescribed timelines.Provide students with constructive, meaningful and timely feedback.Participate in internal moderation and moderate the marking of contracted teaching staff, where appointed.Engage with Module Coordinators regarding assessment content, quality and effectiveness.Maintain academic integrity and consistency in the application of assessment criteria.Student Support and SuccessProvide formal consultation opportunities and accessible academic support to students.Respond to academic questions in accordance with STADIO communication and response-time standards.Participate in student induction, orientation and academic support activities.Monitor student attendance, engagement and academic progress in class and through Canvas, STADIO’s Learning Management System.Identify disengaged or at-risk students early and coordinate appropriate interventions or referrals.Maintain accurate records and reports relating to student support and at-risk interventions.School Academic Coordination at the CampusCoordinate the delivery of the relevant School’s programmes at the Rustenburg City Campus.Work closely with the Head of Campus, Head of School, Programme Coordinators and Module Coordinators.Represent the School at campus level and facilitate effective communication between the School and campus.Induct, mentor and support contracted teaching staff, where appointed, and monitor teaching quality and student engagement.Coordinate academic deadlines and contribute to campus timetabling.Address student academic queries and complaints, escalating matters when required.Support quality assurance activities, regulatory site visits and academic improvement plans.Scholarship, Professional Practice and Community EngagementEngage in the scholarship of teaching and learning and continuously improve teaching practice.Share relevant practices and findings with the STADIO academic community.Pursue formal research outputs where appropriate.Participate in relevant professional networks and associations.Maintain current knowledge of developments within the applicable discipline.Support relevant community engagement initiatives aligned with STADIO’s objectives.Administration and Campus ParticipationParticipate in programme, School and campus meetings.Satisfy the expectations of professional academic administration.Assist with student admission and recognition-related academic processes, where required.Contribute actively to campus events, student activities and the broader campus community.Participate in STADIO lecturer development and other professional development initiativesMinimum Qualifications and ExperienceQualificationsCandidates must hold either:A relevant Master’s degree with at least one documented research output.The qualification must be relevant to the School, programme portfolio and discipline for which the candidate is applying.ExperienceA minimum of five years’ relevant teaching experience in higher education.Experience in venue-based and student-centered teaching, academic student support, assessment and technology-enhanced learning.Evidence of contributing to improved student engagement, progression or academic success.Participation in higher education School or faculty management activities, including reporting to academic or management committees.Experience in distance, online or blended teaching and learning environments.Knowledge, Skills and CompetenciesStrong discipline knowledge relevant to the programmes offered by the applicable School.Sound knowledge of teaching, learning and assessment practices in blended and distance higher education.Competence in using a learning management system such as Canvas.Knowledge of student retention, academic success and at-risk student support practices.Understanding of the South African higher education quality assurance and regulatory environment, including the CHE and HEQSF.Strong presentation, facilitation, classroom-management, communication and technology skills.Strong planning, organising and administrative skills.Academic leadership, mentoring and people-management capability.Sound judgement, problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively.A strong student-centered orientation and commitment to academic excellence.Willingness to work across
