Foodmax is a B2B food supply chain business headquartered in Singapore, serving customers across Singapore, Malaysia and the wider region. We work with suppliers, logistics partners and technology providers across multiple markets, and the business is growing quickly.This is our first dedicated in-house legal appointment in Singapore. You will report to the Head of Corporate Affairs, own commercial legal work end to end, and work directly with business teams in Singapore and China. If you want a role where you build the function rather than inherit it, this is that role.What you will doDraft, review and negotiate the full range of commercial contracts, including merchant and supplier agreements, warehousing and logistics contracts, technology and services agreements, and settlement arrangements.Build and own the contract template library, approval workflow and legal register.Give business teams commercially usable advice, meaning a workable alternative rather than a list of risks.Manage external counsel across Singapore, Malaysia and China, including scope, fees and quality.Support corporate matters spanning entity and shareholding structure, intellectual property, data protection under the PDPA, employment and regulatory correspondence.Support disputes, recovery and enforcement matters.What we are looking forAdmitted to the Singapore Bar, or qualified in another common law jurisdiction with substantial Singapore experience.Eight to twelve years of post-qualification experience, including at least four years in-house at a high growth company. Logistics, supply chain, e-commerce or consumer platform background preferred.Full working fluency in English and Mandarin, including drafting and negotiating in English and working directly with Mandarin-speaking business teams.Comfortable operating as the only lawyer in the room, setting your own priorities and closing matters without supervision.Cross-border and cross-cultural working experience, with the confidence to push back on business teams and the judgement to know when not to.
