Senior Legal Counsel (EMEA)Location: Berlin, Germany (Hybrid) 3 days on site, 2 days remote.About the OpportunityWe are partnering with a leading international online travel and technology business to recruit a Senior Legal Counsel to join its EMEA Legal team based in Berlin.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced commercial lawyer to work at the heart of a fast-growing, global organisation, providing strategic legal support across a broad range of commercial, regulatory, compliance, and operational matters. The role offers significant exposure to cross-border legal issues, emerging digital regulation, and complex stakeholder engagement across multiple European markets.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide commercially focused legal advice to senior stakeholders on strategic initiatives, new products, and business projects.Advise on complex multi-jurisdictional legal and regulatory matters across the EMEA region.Lead and support compliance activities relating to data protection, consumer protection, digital and technology regulation, marketing, promotions, and travel sector regulations.Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, assess business impact, and drive implementation of compliance initiatives.Draft, negotiate, review, and advise on a wide range of commercial agreements, including supplier, partnership, technology, and services contracts.Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders across commercial, marketing, finance, HR, product, and operational teams.Deliver practical legal guidance and training to promote legal awareness across the business.Manage and resolve commercial and consumer disputes in collaboration with internal stakeholders.Support regulatory engagement and interactions with authorities across Europe.Instruct and manage external legal counsel across multiple jurisdictions.Drive continuous improvement of legal processes, templates, policies, and governance frameworks.Collaborate closely with colleagues across legal and business teams in an international and multicultural environment.About YouQualified lawyer with a minimum of 8 years' post-qualification experience.Significant in-house legal experience gained within a commercial organisation.At least 4 years' legal practice experience in Germany.Experience within a technology, digital platform, e-commerce, online marketplace, travel, or consumer-focused business is highly desirable.Strong understanding of commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and risk management.Experience advising on data protection, consumer law, digital regulation, and related legal frameworks.Commercially minded with the ability to balance legal risk against business objectives and provide pragmatic, solution-oriented advice.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage and influence senior leadership.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment with competing priorities.Proactive, adaptable, and able to work independently while managing a varied workload.Fluent English and German are essential.What's on OfferA senior legal position within a globally recognised digital business.Exposure to complex international commercial and regulatory matters.Direct interaction with senior business leaders and key decision-makers.A collaborative, multicultural, and high-performing environment.Excellent career development and growth opportunities.Flexible and hybrid working arrangements.The opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a rapidly expanding international organisation.
