Senior Legal Counsel

Key ResponsibilitiesAct as the primary in-house legal adviser for Singapore and Southeast Asian operations.Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of commercial agreements, including customer and supplier contracts, distribution and reseller agreements, OEM agreements, software licensing, service agreements, NDAs, and strategic partnerships.Advise management and business teams on legal, contractual, regulatory, and commercial risks, providing clear and practical recommendations.Provide legal support for business operations across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia.Develop and maintain legal templates, contract approval processes, playbooks, and risk management frameworks.Coordinate with external legal counsel where specialist or jurisdiction-specific legal advice is required.Support matters relating to corporate governance, regulatory compliance, employment law, disputes, and regulatory enquiries.Identify and manage legal risks relating to data protection, anti-bribery and corruption, competition law, sanctions, export controls, and digital-asset regulations.Partner closely with management and cross-functional teams to ensure legal considerations are effectively integrated into business decisions.RequirementsQualified lawyer admitted to practice in Malaysia, Singapore, or another established common-law jurisdiction.Minimum 7–8 years of post-qualification legal experience, with at least 4 years of in-house experience preferred.Strong practical knowledge and experience in Singapore commercial and contract law.Experience supporting commercial activities in at least two of the following markets: Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia. Regional exposure across all three markets is highly preferred.Proven ability to independently draft, review, and negotiate complex cross-border commercial and technology-related contracts.Strong commercial acumen with the ability to communicate legal risks and recommendations clearly to management and non-legal stakeholders.Excellent written and spoken English.Strong integrity, confidentiality, responsiveness, attention to detail, and personal accountability.Comfortable working independently in a regional and fast-paced business environment.
