Senior Legal Counsel – Markets & Trading

Leading global financial institution is looking for a senior in-house lawyer to join its Markets Legal team, advising institutional Fixed Income and Equities businesses across trading, products, regulation and documentation. The role can be based in NY, Boston, or Florida.Key responsibilitiesAdvise Fixed Income and Equities sales & trading businesses on legal, regulatory and reputational matters.Support new products, new markets and strategic business initiatives with practical, commercially focused legal advice.Draft, review and negotiate trading agreements and transactional documentation.Partner with Risk, Credit, Compliance and senior business stakeholders on legal and regulatory obligations.Monitor regulatory developments and advise the business on their impact, including working with international legal teams.Key skills & experienceJ.D. and admission to the New York, Pennsylvania or Florida Bar.12+ years' legal experience, ideally within a major financial institution or leading law firm.Direct experience advising Fixed Income and/or Equities sales & trading or capital markets businesses.Strong knowledge of institutional trading products and industry-standard trading documentation.A commercial, practical approach, with the ability to advise senior business stakeholders and balance legal risk with business objectives.
