Position: Senior Machine Learning EngineerLocation: Cluj Napoca, RomâniaAt Crafting Technologies we're a team of passionate engineers who enjoy solving complex challenges with clean, purposeful solutions. We are currently expanding our Applied ML & Research team with a Senior Machine Learning Engineer position. You will build and scale machine learning solutions that power key capabilities across our platforms in the online gaming industry.Your work will directly influence platform security, user experience, and large-scale, data-driven decision-making.This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll develop production-ready ML systems, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, and help shape the evolution of our machine learning platform.About the RoleYou’ll work across the full machine learning lifecycle, partnering with Product and Engineering teams to identify and deliver high-impact ML solutions.Your role will span model development, data exploration, feature engineering, training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring — with a strong focus on building reliable, reproducible, and observable ML systems.You’ll also help drive engineering excellence through clean code, documentation, experimentation best practices, and responsible AI development.What You’ll DoPartner with Product and Engineering teams to identify and deliver high-impact machine learning solutions.Design, develop, and improve ML models, including classifiers, regressors, ranking/retrieval models, and rule-based systems.Contribute across the full ML lifecycle, from data exploration and feature engineering to model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.Build reliable training and inference pipelines while improving reproducibility, testing, and observability.Communicate model performance, technical trade-offs, and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Promote engineering excellence through clean code, documentation, experimentation best practices, and responsible AI development.What We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Machine Learning, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s is a plus.4+ years of experience building and deploying production machine learning systems.Strong Python skills, experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch and XGBoost, and solid SQL knowledge.Deep understanding of machine learning fundamentals, including experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and modern AI technologies.Experience writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code while following engineering best practices.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex challenges into incremental, deliverable milestones.Nice to HaveExperience with ML tooling such as MLflow, ZenML, or Metaflow.Hands-on experience with AWS services, including EC2, EKS, CloudFormation, and Cognito.Familiarity with Kafka or other streaming data platforms.Contributions to open-source machine learning projects.Curious about us so far?
