Senior Maintenance Strategy Consultant (MRO ITS)

Job posting location: Riyadh, Saudi ArabiaPosition Objective:Lead the assessment, design and implementation of Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) operational excellence programme. Develop a future-state Target Operating Model (TOM), strengthen asset management and maintenance governance, improve reliability and operational performance, and establish organisational readiness for ISO 55001 and ISO 50001 certification.Job Description & Key Responsibilities:Conduct a comprehensive current-state assessment of MRO operations, benchmarking existing practices against ISO 55001, ISO 50001, Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) standards and relevant Saudi market best practices.Design the future-state MRO Target Operating Model, including maintenance governance, organisational structures, processes, roles and responsibilities, aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.Establish asset reliability and performance excellence frameworks, incorporating Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM), Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement methodologies.Evaluate and optimise preventive and corrective maintenance (PM/CM) strategies, maintenance planning, scheduling, work order management and execution processes.Assess maintenance contracting, outsourcing arrangements, contractor performance and spare parts localisation opportunities. Develop appropriate contractor management processes, service-level agreements (SLAs) and performance monitoring frameworks.Develop ISO 55001 and ISO 50001 readiness roadmaps, including gap assessments, compliance action plans, mock assessments, documentation reviews and support for the Energy Management System (EnMS).Define maintenance and asset performance KPIs, MRO metrics and reporting dashboards to support data-driven decision-making and executive oversight.Facilitate stakeholder engagement, change management and knowledge transfer workshops to build internal capabilities and support sustainable adoption of the future-state operating model.Prepare high-quality assessment reports, strategic recommendations, implementation roadmaps and executive-level presentations for the beneficiary department.Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline. Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in maintenance, reliability engineering, asset management and MRO strategy, including operating model design or consulting.Demonstrated experience in field asset management and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).Proven capability in executive advisory, maintenance transformation, stakeholder management and organisational change management.Experience in developing maintenance strategies, governance frameworks, performance improvement plans and ISO management system readiness programmes.Advanced proficiency in SAP Enterprise Asset Management (SAP EAM) and Plant Maintenance (SAP PM).Strong knowledge of MRO metrics, maintenance KPIs and performance dashboards using Power BI or Tableau.Working knowledge of maintenance planning and project scheduling tools; MS Project or Primavera P6 experience is an advantage.Strong understanding of RCM, RCA, preventive and corrective maintenance, contractor management, SLAs and spare parts localisation.Knowledge of ISO 55001 asset management and ISO 50001 energy management requirements.CMRP, ISO 55001 Lead Implementer or an Institute of Asset Management (IAM) Certificate is required. ISO 50001 Lead Implementer and PMP certifications are advantageous.
