Position OverviewA top-ranked AmLaw firm is seeking a Senior Manager, Attorney Development to serve as both a champion for its associates and a strategic partner to its leadership. The role spans talent management, lateral integration, evaluations, and strategic planning, putting you at the heart of how the firm develops its legal talent. It's based in the firm's New York office on a hybrid schedule.This is a chance to shape the associate experience at a leading firm and work directly with leadership on how legal talent is grown, supported, and deployed. If you're energized by building programs, advising partners, and helping attorneys do their best work, this role puts you at the center of it.Key ResponsibilitiesAdvise practice leadership on talent strategy across the group, spanning attorney development, retention, and firm cultureTranslate financial reporting, analytics, and benchmarking into recommendations that strengthen attorney performance, serving as the primary point of connection between practice leaders and the finance functionOwn the group's mentoring framework across all seniority levelsDrive the design, rollout, and enforcement of firm policies and talent initiatives alongside practice and talent leadershipLead the annual review cycle for income partners, associates, and counsel, and surface emerging performance trends for leadershipServe as a senior resource for associates and counsel on career growth, workplace dynamics, morale, and firm life, and guide incoming lateral attorneys through their integration into the groupDirect the planning and execution of group meetings and eventsOwn exit interviews with departing attorneys and turn the resulting attrition data into insight for leadership.Partner across finance, recruiting, professional development, career development, inclusion, and business development to advance these prioritiesQualificationsBachelor's Degree requiredExperience in talent management, attorney development or practice management requiredJ.D. with previous work experience as a practicing attorney or associate strongly preferred
