The successful candidate will help shape how data is used across the organisation, driving better decision-making through actionable insights and scalable analytical capabilities.This role would suit an experienced analytics leader who enjoys operating in a player-coach capacity, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on involvement where needed.The OpportunityYou will lead a small team spanning multiple data disciplines and serve as the primary point of contact for data and analytics across the business.The role requires someone who can translate complex business questions into analytical solutions, influence senior stakeholders through evidence-based recommendations, and build a high-performing data function that supports commercial growth and operational effectiveness.Success in this position will come from the ability to combine strong leadership, commercial acumen, analytical thinking, and technical credibility.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team DevelopmentLead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team covering analytics, business intelligence, reporting, and data management.Establish clear ownership, priorities, and accountability across the team.Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and delivery excellence.Act as a player-coach, providing guidance while remaining close enough to the work to unblock challenges and support key initiatives.Business PartnershipPartner directly with senior business stakeholders to understand priorities and strategic objectives.Translate business needs into actionable data and analytics initiatives.Provide thought leadership and challenge assumptions through data-driven insights.Influence decision-making through effective communication and storytelling.Analytics & InsightsDrive analysis across customer, commercial, operational, and financial performance.Identify opportunities, risks, trends, and areas for improvement.Deliver meaningful recommendations that lead to measurable business outcomes.Establish and evolve KPI frameworks that support organisational performance.Data & ReportingOversee reporting, data quality, governance, and analytical processes.Partner closely with technical teams to ensure scalable and sustainable data solutions.Improve analytics capabilities, reporting structures, and business visibility into performance.Innovation & Emerging TechnologiesSupport adoption of modern analytical approaches, including AI-enabled tooling and predictive analytics where appropriate.Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and decision-making through technology.Required Experience6+ years of experience in Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Science, or related disciplines.Previous people leadership experience, including team development and performance management.Experience leading broad data functions rather than a single specialist discipline.A proven track record of partnering with senior stakeholders and influencing decisions.Experience working within fast-paced, data-rich business environments.Technical RequirementsAdvanced SQL proficiency.Strong experience with modern BI and visualisation platforms such as Looker, Omni, Tableau, Power BI, or similar.Understanding of data pipelines, data transformation processes, reporting environments, and data quality principles.Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and engineering teams.PreferredSnowflakedbtPythonPredictive analyticsMLOps exposureAI-enabled analytics tooling
