Apply & track with Apply EdgeRole Purpose:The Senior Manager - Internal Communications will lead the development and delivery of internal communications across Innovo Group, helping employees understand the Group's strategy, priorities, performance and culture and strengthening connection across the organisation.Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer, the role will act as a communications partner to senior leaders, HR and business teams, translating business priorities and organisational developments into clear, relevant and engaging communications for employees across corporate offices, business units and operational/project sites.A key focus will be ensuring communications effectively reach Innovo's diverse workforce, including office-based and field employees. The role will own and continuously improve internal communications channels, content and editorial planning, and support leadership communications, employee engagement, organisational change and key people initiatives.The role will also support the Chief Communications Officer on selected external communications projects and corporate initiatives as required.Key Accountabilities:Internal Communications Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute Innovo Group's internal communications strategy and annual plan, aligned with business and people priorities.
- Establish a clear communications cadence across the organisation, ensuring employees receive the right information, through the right channels, at the right time.
- Own and manage the Group internal communications editorial calendar, coordinating communications across Group functions, business units and markets.
- Identify communications gaps and proactively recommend solutions to improve employee understanding, engagement and connection.
- Balance planned communications with the ability to respond quickly to emerging business priorities and organisational developments.HR & People Communications
- Partner closely with HR and the wider People organisation to develop communications supporting people priorities, including organisational changes, employee programmes, policies, benefits, learning and development, culture and engagement initiatives.
- Develop communications plans for change initiatives, ensuring employees understand what is changing, why it matters and what is expected of them.
- Advise HR stakeholders on messaging, audience segmentation, timing and channels.
- Coordinate with HR and business leaders to ensure employee communications are accurate, consistent and appropriately sequenced.Field & Operational Communications
- Develop communications approaches that effectively reach employees working across Innovo's project sites and operational locations, recognising that not all employees have regular access to email or desktop channels.
- Partner with operational and site leadership and HR teams to understand frontline employee communication needs and identify the most effective channels for reaching them.
- Translate Group priorities, policies, safety messages, people initiatives and business updates into clear, accessible communications for field audiences.
- Develop communication toolkits for managers and site leaders to enable consistent cascade of important information.
- Regularly gather feedback from sites and operational teams to understand employee information needs and improve communications effectiveness.Internal Channels & SharePoint
- Own and manage Innovo's internal communications channels, including SharePoint/intranet, email communications, newsletters, Teams and other employee-facing platforms.
- Maintain a clear content architecture and publishing cadence for SharePoint, ensuring information is current, accessible and easy for employees to navigate.
- Identify opportunities to improve channel effectiveness, user experience and employee adoption.
- Establish appropriate governance for internal communications channels and content.
- Use engagement data and employee feedback to assess channel performance and recommend improvements.Content, Storytelling & Basic Design
- Develop high-quality employee communications across formats, including articles, announcements, newsletters, leadership messages, presentations, FAQs, toolkits and digital content.
- Identify and develop employee and business stories that build understanding and pride in Innovo and its work.
- Translate complex business information into simple, engaging communications appropriate for different employee audiences.
- Produce or adapt basic visual communications using tools such as Canva, PowerPoint or equivalent, working with Marketing/Design teams where more sophisticated creative support is required.
- Maintain consistency of tone, messaging and visual identity across internal communications.Employee Engagement & Events
- Support the communications strategy and content for Group-wide employee engagement moments, including town halls, leadership sessions, employee events and major organisational milestones.
- Develop event narratives, agendas, executive briefing materials, presentations and supporting communications.
- Partner with HR, Marketing and other teams to ensure internal events reinforce Innovo's strategy, culture and priorities.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen two-way communication between leadership and employees.Change, Issues & Sensitive Communications
- Support communications for organisational change, business transformation and sensitive employee matters.
- Anticipate employee questions and potential communication risks and develop appropriate messaging, FAQs and leadership materials.
- Work closely with HR, Legal and relevant business leaders to ensure sensitive communications are accurate, timely and appropriately managed.
- Support the Chief Communications Officer on internal aspects of issues and crisis communications where required.External Communications Support
- Support the Chief Communications Officer on selected external communications projects, corporate announcements and campaigns.
- Contribute to corporate content, messaging, briefing materials and other communications deliverables as required.
- Support coordination with PR and communications agency partners on specific projects.
- Help identify internal stories or business developments that may have relevance for external corporate communications.Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or a related discipline.Experience
- 10 years of communications experience, with substantial experience in internal or employee communications.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing internal communications strategies in a complex organisation.
- Experience partnering with senior leaders and HR and providing communications counsel, not only execution support.
- Experience developing communications for geographically dispersed and/or frontline workforces.
- Experience managing internal channels, editorial calendars and employee communications campaigns.
- Experience in construction, infrastructure, real estate or another operational/project-based environment is an advantage.Skills
- Exceptional written and verbal English, with excellent editing and proofreading skills.
- Ability to translate complex business information into clear, relevant and engaging employee communications.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the confidence to advise and challenge constructively.
- Strong project and editorial management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines.
- Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
