Senior Manager of Engineering

AI & Image Analysis | Life SciencesWe’re working with a growing technology company that provides AI-powered image analysis services to researchers, helping scientists extract meaningful insights from complex biological and scientific images.We’re looking for a Senior Manager of Engineering to lead and grow the engineering team and help scale the technology behind the company’s platform and services. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineering leader who enjoys working at the intersection of software, AI, imaging, data, and life sciences.The RoleLead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers.Own the development and delivery of scalable platforms supporting AI-driven image analysis.Partner with Product, Data Science, Research, and senior leadership to define and execute the technology roadmap.Drive best practices around architecture, code quality, testing, CI/CD, scalability, and reliability.Help build systems capable of processing and analyzing large volumes of complex image and scientific data.Work closely with technical and research teams to turn customer and research requirements into reliable software solutions.Recruit, develop, and retain strong engineering talent while building a collaborative, high-performing team.Provide technical leadership while remaining close enough to the technology to guide architectural and engineering decisions.What We’re Looking For8+ years of software engineering experience, including significant engineering management experience.Previous experience as an Engineering Manager, Senior Engineering Manager, Director of Engineering, or similar.Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building scalable, cloud-based platforms.Experience with modern engineering practices, distributed systems, APIs, databases, and CI/CD.Experience working with AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar cloud environments.Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and scientific stakeholders.A track record of hiring, mentoring, and developing engineering teams.Nice to HaveExperience in AI/ML, computer vision, image analysis, biotech, life sciences, healthcare technology, bioinformatics, or scientific software would be a plus.You don’t need to be an expert in life sciences or image analysis coming in. We’re looking for a strong engineering leader who is technically credible, curious, and excited about using AI and image analysis to help researchers solve complex scientific problems.This is a chance to have a real impact on both the engineering organization and technology that supports cutting-edge research.
