Thompson Hine LLP, an AmLaw 200 firm regularly recognized for our commitment to Innovation, Inclusion, and collaborative culture is seeking a Senior Manager of Legal Talent to join the Talent Management department in our New York office. As a member of the Firm’s Talent Management (“TM”) team, the Senior Manager of Legal Talent leads lateral and entry-level recruiting of lawyers to Thompson Hine.This role works closely with members of the Firm’s Executive Committee, including the Firm’s Hiring Partner, and other Firm Leaders involved in recruiting efforts, such as Practice Group Leaders and Office Partners-in-Charge, to set attorney recruitment hiring objectives.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborates with the Direct of Legal Recruiting, Hiring Partner, Practice Group Leaders, and Office Partners-in-Charge to identify hiring objectives. Evaluates the business case behind these requests and provides professional expertise in developing a recruiting strategy for each search.Manages all aspects of the recruiting process for employed lawyer and partner recruiting from sourcing and resume review to the orientation and integration of new attorneys.Provides supervision and management of Legal Talent Coordinators, including, but not limited to, overseeing work assignments, performance evaluations, employee relations issues, and other management-level functions.Builds and maintains relationships with search firms, and other external vendors and professionals, to increase brand recognition and develop partnerships to attract sought-after expertise to Thompson Hine’s business.Collaborates with the Director of Legal Recruiting to develop new and innovative recruitment strategies to ensure the best possible applicants.ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Mentor, train and develop Legal Talent Coordinators.Attend industry conferences, as requested.Participate in local recruiting professional organizations.Assist with other duties and special projects as needed.QUALIFICATIONS Education, Training, and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree required; JD preferred.At least seven years of lawyer recruiting experience.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Growth mindset to enhance emotional intelligence, empathy, and an understanding of inclusion and belonging practices that support managing and collaborating across differences.Excellent customer service skills and telephone etiquette are mandatory.Strong organizational skills; superior judgment and discretion; ability to multi-task and work efficiently.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.Efficient use of software tools including MS-Word, MS-Excel, PowerPoint, viRecruit, LMSPossesses interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with a diverse group of employees.Ability to handle tasks under pressure.Ability to adjust work schedule to work other hours, as required.Growth mindset to enhance emotional intelligence, empathy and an understanding of inclusion and belonging practices that support managing and collaborating across differences.Compensation is determined upon the market in which the position is located, the responsibilities of the position, the experience and skills of the applicant, and other job-related factors.
