Senior Manager - Production & Technical Integration

Job Summary:Lead Expo-wide Events & Entertainment (E&E) production operations, ensuring effective planning, coordination, operational readiness, and execution of productions across all venues and event sites. Oversee venue operations, back-of-house (BOH) activities, rehearsals, logistics, and show operations, while ensuring seamless integration of production delivery requirements with site-wide operational services. Support the successful delivery of E&E experiences through operational excellence, cross-functional coordination, and production readiness across the Expo ecosystem.

Responsibilities

Production Operations Management:Lead the delivery of Expo-wide E&E production operations across venues and event sites, ensuring production activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved plans.Oversee production operational schedules, workflows, and resource deployment.Monitor production performance and resolve operational issues to maintain continuity of operations.Venue Operations & BOH Management:Oversee venue operations and back-of-house (BOH) activities to ensure venues, facilities, and production areas are operationally ready.Direct venue setup, changeovers, occupancy transitions, and production support activities in line with event requirements.Ensure compliance with operational standards, safety requirements, and established procedures.Rehearsals & Show Operations:Lead the planning and execution of rehearsals to ensure operational, production, and stakeholder readiness.Oversee show operations across venues and event locations, ensuring smooth execution and effective coordination among production teams.Manage operational responses to production-related issues during rehearsals and live events.Logistics & Resource Coordination:Oversee production logistics, including the movement, deployment, and recovery of equipment, materials, personnel, and operational resources.Coordinate the allocation and utilization of production resources to support multiple concurrent events and productions.Ensure timely availability of assets and services required for successful production delivery.Operational Readiness:Lead operational readiness activities for productions and events, ensuring all operational requirements are in place prior to delivery.Conduct readiness assessments and coordinate mitigation plans to address identified operational gaps and risks.Ensure production teams, venues, and supporting services are prepared for live operations.Site-wide Operational Integration:Integrate production delivery requirements with site-wide operational services, ensuring alignment across all operational interfaces.Coordinate with relevant operational functions to support seamless event execution and venue operations.Ensure production requirements are incorporated into broader Expo operational planning and readiness activities.Stakeholder Management & Reporting:Act as the primary operational liaison between production teams and internal operational stakeholders.Support the Senior Director - Production & Technical Integration by providing operational updates, readiness assessments, and performance reports.Foster effective collaboration across functions to ensure successful delivery of E&E experiences.Educational Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Production Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.Professional Certifications Preferred:PMP, or other recognized project management, event production, operational risk, or HSE certification is preferred.Experience:A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience for a bachelor’s degree, including supervisory or managerial experience.Nature of Experience:Experience in managing large-scale entertainment, events, or production operations within complex, multi-stakeholder environments.Experience overseeing venue operations, back-of-house (BOH) activities, rehearsals, logistics, and show operations.Experience leading operational readiness planning and execution for live events and productions.Experience integrating production requirements with site-wide operational services to support seamless event delivery.Experience liaising with internal operational teams to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of entertainment and event operations.Experience managing contractors, service providers, and cross-functional teams in fast-paced event environments.Experience delivering high-profile events, exhibitions, festivals, or large-scale public experiences.Job Specific Skills:Strong knowledge of production operations, event delivery workflows, and venue management practices.Strong ability to plan, coordinate, and execute venue operations, rehearsals, logistics, and show operations across multiple event environments.Strong operational readiness planning, coordination, and execution capabilities.Strong ability to integrate production requirements with site-wide operational services and operational support functions.Strong ability to manage operational risks, issues, contingencies, and competing priorities within dynamic event environments.Strong stakeholder management, cross-functional coordination, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
