As the sole compliance lead, this role is responsible for building and maintaining a practical, scalable and regulator-ready compliance framework that supports business growth and adherence to legal, regulatory and Shariah requirements.Reporting to the Head of Non-Financial Risk & Compliance, the incumbent will partner with business stakeholders, regulators and Shariah advisors to embed compliance requirements across products, processes and operations. The role also requires leveraging technology, AI and automation to enhance compliance monitoring, regulatory change management and reporting efficiency.
What You'll Do
Establish and maintain the Credit Division’s compliance framework, including risk assessments, policies, procedures, controls, governance standards and compliance monitoring plans.Provide practical compliance advice on products, customer journeys, pricing, disclosures, marketing campaigns, contracts, system enhancements and business initiatives.Ensure regulatory and Shariah requirements are appropriately incorporated into product structures, documentation, operational processes and system controls.Monitor legal, regulatory and Shariah developments, assess business impact and coordinate timely implementation of required changes.Conduct risk-based compliance monitoring and testing, identify control gaps and drive remediation to closure.Manage regulatory breaches, non-compliance incidents and customer-related compliance issues, including investigation, escalation, reporting and corrective actions.Coordinate regulatory and Shariah-related engagements, including submissions, inspections, enquiries, licensing matters and reviews involving KPKT, SKP, Shariah advisors and other relevant stakeholders.Prepare compliance reporting and risk insights, and maintain governance forums, policy governance, committee reporting and escalation processes.Leverage AI, automation and data analytics tools to streamline compliance monitoring, regulatory tracking, reporting and other compliance processes.Support strategic, regulatory and cross-functional initiatives as assigned by Management.Role RequirementsBachelor's Degree or higher in Law, Finance, Islamic Finance, Banking, Risk Management, Business Administration, Shariah or a related discipline.Minimum 6 years of experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, financial or credit services, Islamic finance or related fields.Strong knowledge of Malaysian regulatory and Shariah governance requirements applicable to financing businesses, including experience supporting engagements with regulators and authorities such as KPKT, SKP and/or BNM.Sound understanding of Shariah financing principles and governance requirements, with the ability to translate requirements into practical business controls.Proven experience developing or enhancing compliance frameworks, compliance monitoring programmes and regulatory advisory processes.Experience reviewing products, contracts, customer communications and business processes from regulatory and Shariah compliance perspectives.Familiarity with AI, automation and data analytics tools to enhance compliance processes.Self-starter with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.Strong analytical, stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to provide practical recommendations.High standards of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail.Professional qualifications in regulatory compliance, Islamic finance or Shariah governance would be an advantage.What you getWork your wayFlexible working hoursYour wellbeing mattersMedical coverage, with option to include dependantsExtra leave for family and caregiving needsRewards that grow with youMonthly lifestyle allowance via TNG eWalletLong-term rewards for your contributionsEveryday supportMobile and broadband reimbursementDiscounts and wellness perksWhat it’s like to work hereWe care about people who take ownership, speak up, and want to make things better.
