Senior Manager – Storage & Data Protection Engineering

We’re looking for a senior Storage & Data Protection Engineering leader who can combine deep hands-on technical expertise with people leadership.This is not a purely managerial position. We need a player-coach who can lead engineers and architects while remaining actively involved in architecture, design reviews, complex escalations and technology decisions.What we’re looking for12+ years in Storage / Data Protection / Infrastructure Engineering3+ years leading engineering teams and directly managing Engineers / Systems ArchitectsDeep expertise across NAS, SAN, Object Storage & Software-Defined StorageStrong exposure to Ceph, Dell EMC/PowerScale/Isilon/PowerMax, NetApp, Pure Storage, HPE, Hitachi, MinIO, VAST, WEKA or similar platformsEnterprise Backup, Disaster Recovery & Cyber Recovery expertise — Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik, Cohesity, NetBackup, PowerProtect/Data Domain or equivalentStrong understanding of S3, NFS, SMB, FC, iSCSI & NVMe/NVMe-oFExperience designing storage for Cloud, AI/ML, HPC, Kubernetes/OpenShift, OpenStack and VMware environmentsStrong Linux and platform engineering backgroundInfrastructure automation / IaC using Ansible, Terraform, Python or equivalentStrong understanding of IOPS, latency, throughput, capacity planning, scalability, resilience & multi-tenancyExperience with replication, snapshots, immutability, RPO/RTO, DR and ransomware recoveryExperience supporting large-scale, mission-critical production environments and leading major technical escalations / RCAStrong exposure to architecture governance, technology evaluation, vendor management and platform roadmapsIdeal backgrounds:Storage Engineering Manager | Storage & Data Protection Manager | Senior Storage Manager | Principal Storage Architect | Storage Infrastructure Manager | Head of StorageWe are particularly interested in candidates coming from large-scale cloud, hyperscale, AI infrastructure, HPC, service provider or highly distributed enterprise environments.If you’ve built storage platforms at scale, protected mission-critical data and led strong engineering teams — while staying technically hands-on — we’d like to hear from you.
