Senior Manager, Transportation Operations & Customer Strategy

About the Role

This is a hands-on senior operations leadership position responsible for helping drive the day-to-day performance of our transportation operation. We are seeking an experienced transportation professional who understands how drivers, equipment, freight, customers, planning, service, and financial performance connect.You will work closely across Planning, Driver Management, Customer Operations, Maintenance, Brokerage, Sales, and leadership to improve fleet utilization, service performance, communication, accountability, and operating consistency.This role requires strong operational judgment, problem-solving ability, comfort working with data and KPIs, and the ability to identify issues early and help teams take action.

What You'll Do

Help lead daily transportation operations from freight acceptance through planning, dispatch, execution, and deliveryImprove fleet utilization, driver productivity, equipment positioning, and service performanceIdentify opportunities to reduce deadhead, detention, delays, and other operational inefficienciesMonitor operational and financial KPIs and identify trends or areas requiring attentionDevelop a strong understanding of customer freight patterns, lanes, capacity needs, and service expectationsSupport customer, freight, lane, capacity, and operational strategy discussionsPartner with Planning, Driver Management, Customer Operations, Maintenance, Brokerage, Sales, and leadership to improve executionHelp resolve operational issues and ensure appropriate ownership and follow-throughCoach and develop team members within transportation operationsIdentify recurring challenges and implement practical process improvementsUse dashboards, reporting, and performance data to support better operational decisionsWho You Are:You are a hands-on operations leader who understands how day-to-day transportation decisions affect service, drivers, equipment, customers, and financial performanceYou can balance the big picture with the operational detailsYou identify problems early and are comfortable helping teams work through competing prioritiesYou are confident using KPIs, dashboards, and operational data to identify opportunities for improvementYou communicate clearly and work effectively across departments and levels of leadershipYou know how to establish expectations, reinforce accountability, and develop team membersYou bring a strong sense of ownership, sound judgment, and a practical approach to problem-solving

Qualifications
