This is a newly emphasized role with real ownership: the person in this seat decides how parts get made here.The RoleWe are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to own the path from customer drawings and 3D models to a proven, repeatable process on our floor. You will determine how each part is manufactured — machine selection, operation sequence, tooling, workholding, and programming — and you will be on the floor when it runs.This is a hands-on role. If you want to plan work you never see cut, this is not the job. If you want to see your process run, fix what does not work, and take the cycle time out of it, read on.What You Will Do

• Review customer drawings, models, and specifications to determine manufacturing requirements and assess manufacturability before release to the floor.
• Develop the manufacturing method for each part: machine selection, operation sequence, datum and setup strategy, tooling, fixtures, workholding, and cutting tools.
• Use CATIA to develop manufacturing models and support CNC programming.
• Develop, prove out, and troubleshoot CNC programs for FANUC-controlled 3-axis mills.
• Write detailed routings, operation sequences, setup sheets, and work instructions in Epicor, and keep them accurate as processes change.
• Define in-process and final inspection requirements in partnership with Quality; support first article (AS9102) and prototype builds.
• Support quoting and RFQ response: develop the manufacturing approach, estimate setup and run times, and identify tooling and outside-processing requirements.
• Provide clear, in-person technical direction to machinists and production personnel.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and process problems on the floor and drive them to root cause.
• Improve existing processes to reduce cycle time, scrap, and cost, and document what changed.
• Work with Operations, Quality, and Program Management to hold schedule and meet customer and AS9100 requirements.What You Bring — Required
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering, CNC programming, or process engineering experience in precision machining; aerospace or defense preferred.
• Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of process development — customer model through production release.
• Hands-on CATIA experience.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and troubleshoot CNC programs for FANUC controls, including editing at the control.
• Proficiency with a production CAM package — tell us which one and what you’ve posted from it.
• Deep working knowledge of 3-axis CNC milling — tooling, workholding, feeds and speeds, and how thin-wall and long-reach aluminum parts actually behave.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience writing manufacturing routings and work instructions.
• Must be a U.S. Person as defined under ITAR (22 CFR 120.62) due to the nature of our customer programs.Preferred
• AS9100 environment experience; familiarity with AS9102 first article requirements.
• Experience with an ERP-driven shop (Epicor a strong plus).
• Experience estimating and supporting RFQ / quoting activity.
• Experience with older, well-maintained machine tools — knowing when to derate and how to check machine capability before promising a tolerance.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in manufacturing / mechanical engineering or equivalent trade experience. We will take the machinist who became an engineer over the engineer who has never cut a chip.Why Seanair
