Apply & track with Apply EdgeTechnocat Marine Technical Services is seeking an experienced Marine Engine Technician / Service Engineer to join our team in Piraeus, Greece.We are looking for a hands-on marine engine professional with solid experience in the inspection, maintenance, repair and overhaul of 2-stroke main engines and 4-stroke main and auxiliary engines.Main Responsibilities
- Perform and supervise onboard and workshop engine overhauls and repairs
- Dismantling, inspection, measurement and reassembly of engine components
- Overhaul of pistons, cylinder covers/heads, liners, exhaust valves, connecting rods, bearings, fuel equipment and associated components
- Carry out measurements, evaluate clearances and assess component condition according to maker specifications
- Troubleshoot mechanical engine problems and identify appropriate corrective actions
- Read and work according to OEM manuals, drawings and technical specifications
- Lead and coordinate small teams of technicians during onboard repair projects
- Prepare basic technical findings
- Travel within Greece and internationally for vessel attendanceCandidate Profile
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in marine diesel engine maintenance and overhaul
- Strong practical experience with 2-stroke and/or 4-stroke marine diesel engines
- Experience with engines such as MAN B&W, Wärtsilä/Sulzer, MAN, MaK, Yanmar, Daihatsu or similar is highly valued
- Good understanding of engine measurements, tolerances and clearances
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and lead a small technical team
- Good working knowledge of English
- Willingness to travel internationally at short noticeWhat We Offer
