Job DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Materials Engineer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing material selection, testing, and quality assurance for our metro infrastructure projects. You will leverage your technical expertise to ensure all materials meet stringent specifications and performance standards while driving efficiency and innovation across our operations.Evaluate and select appropriate materials for metro infrastructure projects, considering performance requirements, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability factorsConduct comprehensive material testing and analysis using laboratory equipment and industry-standard methodologies to verify compliance with specificationsDevelop and implement material specifications, testing protocols, and quality control procedures aligned with international standards and project requirementsCollaborate with design, construction, and procurement teams to resolve material-related challenges and optimize material performanceAnalyze material failure modes and conduct root cause investigations to implement corrective actions and prevent future issuesManage relationships with material suppliers and vendors, ensuring consistent quality and timely delivery of materialsPrepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and recommendations for project stakeholders and managementMonitor and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and quality assurance protocolsMentor junior engineers and support team development initiatives to build organizational capabilityParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material processes and project outcomesQualifications10+ years of professional experience in materials engineering, with demonstrated expertise in material selection, testing, and quality assuranceStrong knowledge of material properties, behavior, and performance characteristics across various construction and infrastructure applicationsProficiency with materials testing equipment and laboratory procedures, including mechanical testing and non-destructive testing methodsExperience with CAD software and materials modeling tools for design and analysis purposesSolid understanding of international material standards, codes, and specifications (ASTM, ISO, or equivalent)Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results on scheduleExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detailProficiency in technical documentation, report writing, and data analysisStrong organizational and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teamsPreferred: Prior experience on metro, rail, or large-scale infrastructure projectsPreferred: Experience with material failure analysis and forensic investigationPreferred: Leadership experience managing technical teams or junior staffPreferred: Familiarity with project management software and tools
