Our partner is looking for a Senior Mechanical Analyst Energy based in the United States.This is a senior engineering opportunity focused on advanced mechanical analysis for commercial nuclear and nuclear fuel cycle projects.You will develop, design, and validate structural and computational fluid dynamics models supporting the safety and performance of critical systems.The role combines sophisticated CFD, structural analysis, and fluid-structure interaction work with practical engineering judgment.You will contribute to both established nuclear facilities and emerging technologies, including small modular reactor projects.The position carries significant technical responsibility, including calculation preparation, review, approval, and resolution of complex engineering issues.You will collaborate within multidisciplinary environments while mentoring engineers and strengthening technical capabilities across the team.This fully remote position is aligned with an Oak Ridge, Tennessee-based engineering organization.AccountabilitiesDevelop, design, and validate structural and fluid dynamics models for small modular reactors and nuclear fuel cycle facility projects.Perform structural analyses and steady-state and transient computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations involving single- and multiphase flows to verify safety and performance requirements.Evaluate CFD simulations and coupled fluid-structure interaction (FSI) analyses to assess the structural integrity and performance of critical reactor systems.Prepare, check, and/or approve CFD and mechanical structural analysis calculations in accordance with applicable engineering requirements.Ensure technical deliverables meet high standards for accuracy, quality, formatting, and professional presentation.Verify that engineering analyses and design deliverables comply with applicable nuclear standards, regulations, customer requirements, and nuclear quality assurance standards.Develop technically sound resolutions to engineering issues and ensure appropriate change control processes are implemented.Apply expert knowledge of mechanical analysis and simulation tools to investigate complex technical challenges and support project decisions.Mentor and upskill early-career engineers while providing technical guidance to colleagues at different experience levels in CFD modeling and troubleshooting.Work effectively within challenging, multidisciplinary, and multi-tiered project environments.Perform additional engineering responsibilities as assigned.RequirementsBachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.Minimum of 10 years of professional experience following completion of a bachelor's degree.Demonstrated experience providing engineering support for nuclear facility design, construction, or operations.Expert-level proficiency with relevant design and analysis software, including ANSYS FLUENT/CFX and GOTHIC.Strong knowledge of applicable NRC regulations, nuclear design codes, and standards for commercial nuclear facilities.Experience with CFD modeling, structural analysis, and fluid dynamics, including single- and multiphase flow applications.Strong technical communication skills and the ability to operate effectively in complex, multidisciplinary environments.Excellent organizational skills and a high level of attention to technical accuracy and quality.Experience supporting commercial and/or Department of Energy nuclear reactor projects is preferred.Experience supporting nuclear fuel cycle facility projects is preferred.Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience is an asset.Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound engineering judgment, and mentor engineers at various career stages.Must be a U.S. citizen to be considered.BenefitsExpected annual compensation of $113,000–$188,000, depending on skills, experience, and geographic location.Fully remote work flexibility.Medical, dental, and vision benefits, depending on employment status.Company-paid life insurance and short- and long-term disability coverage.Employer-matched 401(k) with 100% vesting.Employee stock purchase plan.Paid Time Off and leave-of-absence options.Flexible work options and employee recognition and satisfaction programs.Employee assistance program and additional voluntary benefits.Opportunity to contribute to complex commercial nuclear, fuel cycle, and emerging reactor technology projects.Opportunities to mentor engineers and develop advanced technical expertise in CFD and mechanical analysis.How Jobgether WorksWe use an AI-powered matching process to ensure your application is reviewed quickly, objectively, and fairly against the role's core requirements.
