The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the design, coordination, value engineering, and technical delivery of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems across multiple projects. The role requires extensive knowledge of UAE codes, authority requirements, and practical site execution to ensure that designs are technically sound, cost-effective, and fully coordinated for construction.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & EngineeringLead the design and development of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems for commercial, residential, hospitality, healthcare, and mixed-use projects.Review client requirements, project specifications, and contract documents to develop efficient MEP design solutions.Prepare and review design calculations, technical reports, equipment schedules, and engineering documentation.Ensure all MEP designs comply with UAE regulations, international standards, and project specifications.Produce and review HVAC load calculations, plumbing calculations, electrical load schedules, voltage drop calculations, lighting calculations, and fire protection designs.Design CoordinationCoordinate MEP designs with Architectural, Structural, Civil, and Interior Design teams.Lead multidisciplinary coordination meetings and resolve design clashes.Review BIM/Revit models and coordinate with BIM Engineers to achieve clash-free designs.Ensure timely submission of coordinated shop drawings and IFC drawings.Authority ApprovalsLiaise with local authorities including Dubai Municipality, DEWA, Civil Defense, RTA, DCD, Etisalat, DU, and other regulatory bodies.Prepare and review authority submission packages.Address authority comments and obtain necessary approvals.Technical LeadershipMentor and supervise Design Engineers, BIM Engineers, and Draftsmen.Conduct technical reviews of drawings before submission.Provide engineering guidance during project execution.Develop engineering standards and best practices within the department.Value EngineeringIdentify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or compliance.Recommend alternative materials, systems, and engineering solutions.Support the estimation team during tendering with optimized design solutions.Construction SupportProvide technical assistance to project execution teams.Review RFIs, method statements, material submittals, and technical submittals.Resolve site engineering issues and provide practical design modifications where required.Attend project meetings and site visits as required.Quality & ComplianceEnsure compliance with ISO standards, company procedures, and quality management systems.Conduct technical audits of project documentation.Maintain engineering documentation and revision control.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or relevant Engineering discipline.Master's Degree is an advantage.Professional Engineering membership or certification is preferred.ExperienceMinimum 7–10 years of MEP design experience.Minimum 5 years in a senior design role.Proven experience in both MEP Consultancy and MEP Contracting within the UAE or GCC.Strong portfolio of high-rise buildings, commercial developments, residential projects, hospitality, healthcare, industrial, and infrastructure projects.Experience in design review, authority approvals, tendering, and construction support.Technical SkillsAdvanced knowledge of:HVAC DesignElectrical DesignPlumbing & Drainage SystemsFire Fighting & Fire Alarm SystemsELV SystemsStrong understanding of:UAE Fire & Life Safety CodeDEWA RegulationsDubai Municipality CodesASHRAE StandardsNFPA StandardsBS, IEC, IPC, UPC, SMACNA, and CIBSE StandardsProficiency in:AutoCADRevit MEPNavisworksBIM 360 / Autodesk Construction CloudHAPCore CompetenciesStrong engineering and analytical skills.Excellent leadership and mentoring abilities.Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.Strong communication and stakeholder management.Excellent coordination and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Commercial awareness with a focus on value engineering and project profitability.Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
