Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Purpose:We are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Alexandria. The ideal candidate will combine strong engineering fundamentals with practical manufacturing knowledge to develop reliable, efficient, and manufacturable solutions for our industrial, infrastructure, and water-related projects.

Key Responsibilities

Develop mechanical designs, 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings for industrial equipment and fabricated systems.Perform engineering calculations, component sizing, material selection, and design verification in accordance with project requirements and applicable engineering standards.Prepare accurate BOMs, calculation sheets, technical datasheets, and fabrication drawings to support procurement and production.Design and develop mechanical systems and equipment including pipelines and fittings, gates, lifting mechanisms, water intake equipment, steel structures, and automated mechanical systems.Support new product development, prototype development, testing, and continuous improvement of existing products, with a strong focus on functionality, reliability, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.Coordinate closely with the Technical Office, Production, Procurement, and Field Operations teams to ensure designs are practical for manufacturing, assembly, installation, operation, and maintenance.Review manufacturing and site feedback, resolve design-related challenges, and incorporate practical improvements into future designs.Maintain accurate engineering documentation, design revisions, and technical records throughout the project and product lifecycle.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, machine elements, materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering calculations.Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.Experience with FEA, engineering simulation, or design validation tools is considered an advantage.Previous experience in industrial equipment, machinery, steel fabrication, water infrastructure, or heavy mechanical systems is preferred.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to technical detail.Strong command of Microsoft 365 applications.Excellent command of both English and Arabic.Proficiency in working with AI tools is required.Relevant professional certifications or postgraduate studies are considered an advantage.If you are interested and match the above criteria, we would like to hear from you.Kindly send your CV to careers@elbattat.com, mentioning: “Mechanical Design Engineer” in the subject line.
