Managing projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring products meet design specifications and quality standards throughout the development process.Key ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate with minimal direction the attributes of good planning, driving for results, customer focus (both internal and external), good creativity, and problem solving abilities, in addition to good written and oral communication skillsDevelop modular approach to hardware design and architectureGenerate concepts and develop detailed designs for the mechanical systemsConduct detailed engineering analyses on components and sub-assembliesProactively assess the technical risks and resolve the design issues by providing reliable solutionsEnsure quality is built into designs and driven through product developmentDevelop a mechanical timeline for their own developments and is accountable for it.Support project planning and execute design implementation.Deliver module designs based on planned cost, schedule and qualityDevelop test methodology, experimentation, prototype to verify design.Work in close support of the marketing department in the analysis of customer need (VOC) and in the development of product specifications.Translate product requirements into a functional systemWork with manufacturing team to support injection molding, gear design, machining, sheet metal and assemblyParticipate in other aspects of the product development such as : solving manufacturing issues, product performance, repair issues, product improvements, and value engineeringWork cross-functionally with internal team and other core disciplines (EE, Firmware, Software, Marketing)Ability to apply advanced mechanical engineering principles and theories to complex issues.Mentor and coach junior engineers on project basisRequisite CriteriaA Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience in mechanical design.Candidate must have full experience in product development from conceptualization to mass production.Knowledge of mechanical engineering design principles and practiceExperience designing complex mechanisms, such as clutches, gear trains, cams, and linkagesKnowledge of electro-mechanical components such as motors, power transmission and sensorsExpertise in the design of plastic, sheet metal, gear design, die-cast parts, rubber, electro-mechanical & mechanism parts/assembliesFluent in SolidWorks CAD software or/and FEASound knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & TolerancingKnowledge of Design of Experiments and Six Sigma is preferredCompetence with analytical techniques such as Design for Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Design for Assembly, Design for Manufacturing, and Pugh Matrix is preferredSkillsGood command of English in both written & spokenMust have strong interpersonal and communication skillsEnergizing, self-motivated and independentVery customer orientedGood ability to multitaskStrong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skillsGood team player among internal and cross functional team
