Apply & track with Apply EdgeSenior Mechanical Engineer - Mission Critical📍 Dallas TX or Remote (US-based) | Full-Time | Salary range TBCPlan B is retained exclusively by a leading multi-discipline building systems consultancy - a recognised expert in Mission Critical, Science & Technology, and Industrial sectors with 30+ years delivering high-performance engineering solutions - to find a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead and grow their data center mechanical team.This is a senior technical leadership role on hyperscale and mission critical data center programmes, with real ownership over the mechanical practice and the team behind it.The Role:Lead mechanical design from basis of design through construction documents and construction administrationDirect cooling system design - chilled water plants, CRAC/CRAH units, air handling, piping distribution, and heat rejection systemsOwn HVAC design for mission critical and support spaces, including redundancy and resiliency strategyLead energy modeling and system selection to balance efficiency, reliability, and costDrive interdisciplinary coordination across electrical, controls, FP, structural, and BIM/VDC teamsLead and grow a team of mechanical engineers - mentoring, reviewing work, and building repeatable design standardsLead client and contractor engagement - design reviews, RFIs, submittals, and field issue resolutionWhat our client is looking for:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)8+ years of progressive mechanical engineering experience with a strong mission critical / data center focusHyperscale data center experience strongly preferredProven experience leading or mentoring a team of engineersSolid knowledge of ASHRAE standards, building codes, and mechanical safety principlesProficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD; comfortable in BIM/VDC workflowsStrong communicator, able to lead technical discussions with clients, utilities, and contractorsDesirable:PE licence (or actively working toward one)Familiarity with TIA-942 and data center resiliency/tier conceptsExperience with energy modeling or CFD tools (IES, Trane TRACE, Carrier HAP or similar)Fast-track, design-assist, and complex phasing experienceCommissioning coordination backgroundWhat's on offer:Hybrid work set-upCompetitive salary + comprehensive benefitsPartial ESOP - share in the company's successStructured path to partnership / leadershipGenuine investment in your professional development - training, industry events, CPD, and moreInterested?
