Senior Mechanical Product Development Engineer Berlin | Full-time | Hardware StartupMIYOL is developing a wearable device that generates electricity while walking. We have a working prototype and are now developing it into a robust, manufacturable product.We are looking for an experienced, hands-on mechanical engineer to take ownership of the mechanical development of the product. You will work directly on the mechanism, CAD design, prototyping and testing, with substantial freedom to shape the technical solution.What you’ll doDevelop and improve the product’s mechanical architecture and mechanismsDesign parts and assemblies in CADBuild, test and iterate prototypesPlan and perform mechanical, durability and performance testsIdentify failure modes and improve reliabilitySelect appropriate materials, components and manufacturing processesDevelop the design toward production readiness and DFMPrepare drawings, BOMs and technical documentationAs the product matures, support suppliers, tooling and pilot productionWhat we’re looking forDegree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Product Development or a related fieldSeveral years of hands-on mechanical product development experienceExperience developing physical products from prototype toward productionStrong mechanical design and CAD skillsPractical prototyping and testing experienceGood understanding of tolerances, materials and manufacturing processesAbility to work independently and take ownership of technical problemsExperience with compact electromechanical products, mechanisms, transmissions, injection-moulded parts, wearables, medical devices or consumer hardware is a plus.German is helpful but not required; English is sufficient for the role.What we offerYou’ll join MIYOL at an early stage and have significant influence over how the product develops. This is a role with real technical ownership rather than a narrowly predefined engineering scope.The current salary budget is €70,000–€72,000 gross per year.
