This environment offers technicians the opportunity to work with a loyal customer base and a supportive team.Role Description The Senior Mechanical Technician is a full-time, on-site role based at Aldershot MOT Centre Ltd in Aldershot. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing MOT-related inspections, diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults on cars and vans, and carrying out routine servicing and repairs to a high standard. The role involves overseeing complex maintenance work, supporting junior technicians with guidance and technical advice, and ensuring all jobs are completed safely and in line with regulatory and manufacturer requirements. The Senior Mechanical Technician will also help maintain workshop organisation, contribute to accurate job documentation, and interact professionally with customers to explain findings and recommend suitable repair options.Qualifications Strong maintenance and repair skills, including Maintenance & Repair and general Maintenance capabilities.Hands-on experience with Equipment Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance in an automotive workshop environment.Proficient Troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving mechanical and electrical issues on vehicles.Relevant automotive qualifications (e.g., NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent) and, ideally, current MOT tester certification.Solid understanding of vehicle systems, safety standards, and regulatory requirements for MOT and servicing.Ability to lead by example, mentor less experienced technicians, and work effectively as part of a team.Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and a commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality work.Full, valid driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK.
