Senior Medium Voltage Design Engineer

Location: Dubai, United Arab EmiratesIndustry: Power Distribution / Infrastructure / UtilitiesExperience: 10+ YearsABOUT THE ROLEWe are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical, SCADA & Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, review, and coordination of electrical systems, SCADA architecture, instrumentation, and control solutions for water and wastewater treatment facilities.This role requires a strong technical background in utility infrastructure projects, with proven experience delivering treatment plants, pumping stations, desalination facilities, and related water infrastructure projects.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESLead the design and rehabilitation of Medium Voltage (MV) electrical distribution systems.Prepare load flow studies, short-circuit analysis, voltage drop calculations, and protection coordination studies.Develop single-line diagrams, cable routing plans, substation layouts, and detailed design packages.Design MV substations, distribution networks, switchgear systems, transformers, and associated electrical infrastructure.Review contractor submissions, technical specifications, and shop drawings.Coordinate with utility authorities and stakeholders to obtain technical approvals.Support planning and implementation of network upgrades, expansion, and rehabilitation projects.Conduct site inspections, technical audits, and engineering assessments.Participate in tender evaluations and provide technical recommendations.Ensure compliance with international standards and local utility regulations.REQUIREMENTSBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.Minimum 10 years of experience in Medium Voltage network design and rehabilitation.Proven background in airport infrastructure, utility distribution networks, transportation systems, industrial developments, or large-scale infrastructure projects.Experience in consultancy, utility companies, or EPC organizations.Technical SkillsMV Distribution Networks Design (11kV, 13.8kV, 22kV, 33kV)Substation DesignPower System StudiesProtection & Control SystemsLoad Flow AnalysisShort Circuit StudiesRelay CoordinationCable Sizing & RoutingETAPDigSilent PowerFactoryAutoCAD / RevitPreferredExperience on airport electrical infrastructure projects.Knowledge of GCC utility standards (DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, EWEC, etc.).Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer certification is an advantage.Previous Middle East project experience is highly preferred.
